Together Forever.
Or never.I loved you.
I thought you loved me.I thought I was special to you.
I was a pebble in a pit of diamonds.
Scratched and chipped,
It didn't matter though,
Because I would soon be yours.I was wrong though.
You had your eyes set on perfection,
Which I was anything but.
The diamonds beside me glittered and shined,
Catching your eye.
You ignored me,
Until you realized that the diamonds weren't yours to take.
They were claimed by others' hands,
Leaving yours empty. The only thing left was a pebble,
Me.
Your own greed made you reach out,
Claiming me.
Still,
I thought I was special,
And I was,
Just not in the way I thought.
No, I was a reminder,
That you couldn't have what you wanted.
During the day,
You cast me aside,
I was nothing to you.
But during the night,
I was yours.
Only yours.I loved you though,
Because you'd grabbed me when so many others left me,
Unaware of the reason why. When the diamond did you the same as me,
Grabbing you because there was nothing else,
You left me.
Your reminder.
You let yourself be blinded,
Like me.
And like me,
You fell in love,
With a nothing but an illusion.

PoetryI wrote this series of poems in some of the darkest states I've ever been in. I hope my suffering comes through my writing in a way that can be understood by many. Please enjoy!
