Hmm... Something... Someone's missing.

Sa dami ng nagtext, may isang pangalan akong hinahanap. I wonder if Jakob even knows that it's Kinsley's birthday. Hindi man lang ito nagtext para bumati. My lips pouted on its own.

Hindi ko mapigilan na makaramdam ng pagtatampo. I don't even know why I'm feeling this way. Hindi naman ako yung may birthday!

Still... Tss. Mahirap ba mag text ng happy birthday?

"Kinsley," a guy's voice called.

My eyes instinctively looked for the person who called for my attention. My surprise was genuine when I saw Silver making his way to where I was seated.

"Hey," I greeted. "On your way to class?"

"Yeah." He boyishly smiled. "How about you?"

I checked the phone on my lap to check the time. Ten minutes before my class starts. The class before our time is probably dismissed by now. "In a few."

"I forgot to ask for your number last time. Do you mind?" Silver asked as he brought out his phone from his pocket. "You said you want to help me solve Fabie's case, right?"

"Yes!" I quickly reached for his phone as he handed it to me.

I almost typed my number as Fabienne. It was pure reflex. My face scrunched when I realized that I don't know Kinsley's phone number.

"Something wrong?" Silver asked.

"I forgot that I don't know my own number," I sheepishly replied.

He paused for a while and his eyebrows raised as if he remembered something. "Amnesia, right?"

"Yeah..." I briefly responded and brought my attention to the phones.

"Car accident?" he asked.

I pursed my lips, not knowing how to answer. Am I going to tell him that Kinsley tried to killed herself? Well, at least that is everyone's conclusion.

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to pry."

"No..." I shook my head and handed him his phone. "Maybe we can talk about it some other time."

He took his phone from me. "Over coffee? I'll text you."

I smiled. "Sure."

For some reason, my eyes were pulled towards a certain direction. The curve on my lips fainted when I saw Jakob standing from a distance. He was staring at me with a small frown on his face.

What's his problem?

"Kinsley?" Silver called out, forcing me to look away from Jakob and diverting all of my attention to him.

"You know what?" I glanced at Jakob. He was still glaring at us, looking obviously displeased. I brought my eyes back to Silver again. "It's actually my birthday today. May dinner party sa bahay mamaya. Do you wanna come?"

"Oh. Wow. Happy Birthday. Sure, I'll go." He grinned.

"Great." I picked up my bag and stood up. "See you later?"

Silver nodded. "See you."

As I walked, I glimpsed at Jakob's direction again. His back was already on me as he retreats. I rolled my eyes and paid attention to where I was going.

Kinsley's phone chimed for a new message. I checked it as I walked. My feet halted when I saw Jakob's name on the screen. For some odd reason, my heart skipped upon reading his name.

Jakob:
What are you doing with him?

Why is he asking? I pursed my lips.
