I faced my cheek on the cool plastic table of the cafe. My head pounded crazy. Damm Ethan and his lame excuse of orange juice at the party!
“Miss? Would you like coffee?” the waitress asked nicely.
The only thing I could do at the moment was give her a thumbs up. If I shook my head it was sure to hurt worse than now.
I thought fresh air and coffee sounded good to relief a case of bad headache. I mean I never had alcohol before. And seeing that a little shot affected me hard, was a lesson learned.
‘Ring’. The bell on top of the door created my headache to erupt again. Why? Why have a noisy bell at the door?
The lady so placed a cup of coffee in front of me with a sympathetic look. The coffee’s smell was like pancakes in the morning to my senses. It smelt good. I weakly picked up the cup and placed it on my lips, taking a sip.
“Morning, beautiful” said a cheery voice.
I choked on my coffee, like a fish gasping for water. I grabbed a bunch of nearby tissues to clean myself up.
“Jezz, Logan. Wanna see me die?” I joked.
“I had no idea compliments could kill people!” Logan shot back defensively.
I smiled at him. “So? What are you doing here?” I asked him, putting my head yet again down in the table.
“You wanna go somewhere?” Logan asked.
I gave him a sceptical look. “What do you mean?”
“Like to the park or something? You know to talk and stuff” Logan answered.
“What do you mean by ‘stuff’?” I pushed further.
“Like get ice cream. You like ice cream?” Logan asked.
“Yea, I like ice cream. I just don’t know why you want to get ice cream with me” I spoke truthfully.
“I’m just bored and I wanna hang out with someone” Logan argued. “Unless you have plans already, or something?” Logan asked.
“Actually, no. I don’t have plans. So I guess…”
“Okay! Let’s go now!” Logan said getting out of his seat and pulling me by my hand.
“I gotta pay the coffee!” I struggled to but a five dollar bill on the table and then Logan continued to drag me.
