Habang palabas si Ara para kunin ang mga libro sa locker nakita niya si Yam kasama ni Ten.
"Uy guys!" sigaw nito na agad namang pumukaw sa dalawa.
"May itatanong lang sana ako," sabi ni Ara.
"Kami rin, pero ikaw ang mauuna,"
"Andito na ba si Hart? Nakita kasi ni Rachel si Hart kasama daw si Aileen.."
"A-ano?" halata ang gulat sa mukha ng dalawang binata.
"Absent si Hart, ang sabi niya masama daw pakiramdam niya," ani Ten.
Ano?!?
Natahimik silang tatlo ngunit naputol iyon noong may sasabihin si Ara.
"Nga pala, anong itatanong niyo sakin?"
"Saka nalang, sige," ani Yam tsaka hinila si Ten pabalik sakanilang classroom.
"Bro! Bakit di mo tinanong si Ara??" halata ang irita sa tono ng pananalita ni Ten.
"Diba, one time, Hart was with a girl sa Mall noong nasa Spain si Chase at Ara? What if si Aileen iyon? Come on, mas compatible pagdudahan iyon kaysa si Ara at Hart, diba?" pagpapaliwanag ni Yam.
Pag pasok nila sa classroom sinabi agad nila sakanilang mga kaibigan ang sinabi ni Ara.
"What? Come on dude, this is just hella confusing," ani Collin.
"We need to do something about this,"
"Nga pala, where's Chase?"
"He said he's gonna be late for some reason," Mark replies.
Natahimik naman ang grupo saglit, ngunit napawi ang panandaliang katahimikan dahil kay Chase na kakarating lang.
"Bro, you look like shit, have you slept?", Mark asks.
Chase doesn't look like he's in a good mood today.
"Nah, I— I had errands to run, so..." he said as if it's the right excuse to get away.
Bakit ko to ginagawa? Bakit nakikita ko parin si Ara bilang anghel kahit na lahat ng ito'y dumaan, siya at siya parin?
"Ganun ba? Btw, bro, Ara said she saw Hart with Aileen," Ten said.
Sa pagsabi niya non, kating-kati si Chase ihampas ang upuan sa pinakamalapit na semento.
Is she really going to come up with these dumb things so my friends won't suspect? Eto ba? Eto ba ang ginagawa niya??
Di na alam ni Chase anong iisipan but he continued his cool facade and just nodded after the information was given.
He needs an explanation, that's what the some parts of her mind is saying, and the others say that he should give her another chance, this was only the first time, maybe she could change. Maybe she will because of him.
His phone beeps and he immediately pulls it out from his pockets.
"You called?" he immediately answers.
"I-I just want to ask where you are kasi di kita nakita kanina?" Ara asked from the other line.
"I was stuck in traffic and got a little lazy," wala sa mood niyang sagot.
"Okay," Ara answers.
Then the call ended.
Can you blame him?
There are a million things going through his head right now and god knows how much he wants to erase every single thing he's thinking.
Ara, please, give me another reason to stay because I really want to.
