"We'll find her."

Rose

I'm not scared

Just pull the trigger

Pull the damn trigger, Rose

PULL IT!

My hand tightened and automatically, my finger pulled it back, my eyes squeezed closed, ready for the impact but nothing happened.

Just the sound of an empty click, signalling there was no bullets to explode my brain.

A cold sigh escaped my mouth and was visible in the misty air. I licked my chapped lips and moved the gun down, my eyes intently staring at it in curiosity and wonder.

My heart rate was accelerating as if my chest was about to explode. I found my body heating up more and more; so much that my hand rubbed against my forehead, wiping away my sweat.

What have I done?

Was this a bad idea?

No

Who would care?

Who even loves you, Rose?

No one

I was fidgeting, unable to move. My head was spinning in a pull of different directions, I could barely see. My vision blurred and the sounds of vehicles, zooming down below was beginning to block out as it all started to kick in.

My mind and soul was taken over. I was no longer myself. I didn't think about anything; how I felt, what my
life was like. Everything was blocked out. It felt good to finally be free.

I sniffed, rubbing the tip of my cold nose and biting my bottom lip, waiting for it to finally take over me.

My legs continued to swing over the edge of the building, my eyes gazing down at the city below; the city I was never going to see again. Down below, all that was heard was vehicles, pedestrians and music. Bright lights, stores, people - the typical city life.

Hours before, the sky was painted with cloud free, baby blue skies and rays of blessing sunlight but crisscrossing it away was stripes of matte black, darkening the sky and turning it misty, destroying the summer's day.

The cold breeze blew right under my jumper, sending cold chills down my spine. I was shivering but I didn't even care as in a few moments, I would feel the bitter cold.

However I wrapped my arms tighter around myself, trying to use any way to keep myself warm although it did not seem to be working. My legs began to shake uncontrollably and I didn't even care.

God, what's taking it so long?

My hand jerked out, grabbing the gun, shoving some bullets in and pointing it to my temple again. I slowly released air from my mouth, closing my eyes tightly, ready to pull the trigger.

"Hey! Stop!"

I froze, as though the frost had iced my body into a statue. My head steadily turned, a faint yet familiar voice halting me.

My eyes laid upon a man. He was tall, Herculean with messy, dark brown hair and a pair of eyes that I could never, ever forget.

My heart skipped a beat and I struggled to breathe normally at the sight of him. A small sigh left my mouth in shock and I found it hard to rationalise the fact that he was standing there, right in front of me.

"What are you doing?"

I closed my eyes, holding back from bursting into tears. I slowly exhaled, pulling a strand of my hair behind my head, my hands shaking badly.

I dropped the gun, my head swirling around and my mind on the verge of exploding.

Once again, my eyes opened and locked with his. I shook my head slowly at him, unable to answer a question that I had been asking myself all that time.

Those dreamy, attractive hazel eyes of his bore into mine seriously, giving me a strong, powerful gaze. I shrugged softly, tears beginning to blur my vision.

"That's my line. You're supposed to tell me I'm hot."

"I'm not drunk this time."

A small smile came onto my face.

"I messed up again," I whispered, shaking violently. His eyes slowly went behind me and he licked his lips, his body tense and his beautiful eyes filled with worry. "Come away from the edge."

Without hesitation, I did as he said and took a few steps forewords, my body heavy and aching. "It doesn't matter anyway." His eyebrows creased in concern and his eyes gazed straight into mine. "Tell me what's wrong. We can talk about this."

I shook my head slowly, tears rolling down my cheeks. "I can't. ." My hands tightened around me as I continued to shiver, beginning to cry a little.

He started coming closer and I moved back automatically, getting closer to the edge which made him freeze, his hands in the air, showing his cautiousness. "Wh-Why can't you?"

I was hesitating, my head whirling and my body heating up too much. I felt sick - so sick. My stomach was jittered and tied up in knots. I felt so ill and I found myself getting weaker and weaker.

My eyelids started to feel heavy and I parted my lips, about to reply until my body suddenly fell forwards, about to slam against the ground until a pair of arms caught me.

Dizziness overtook me and I could barely breathe, my chest tight and my throat sore, blocking oxygen coming in me. I gasped, struggling to keep my eyes open as I heard his muffled voice.

Something was coming out of my mouth but I didn't know what. My body, uncontrollably shaking and coughs leaving my mouth, my throat tightening as I struggled to keep breathing. An invisible hand clamped my mouth shut, stopping me from screaming, crying out for help. I needed help.

Help!

Help!

I was panicking, my body in shock, not sure of what was going on in my body. I couldn't feel myself, I was numb yet in horrendous pain, unable to move, paralysed to stay down, stuck in the same, horrible position.

Although I was numb, a prodding, sharp pain was in my arm and was repeatedly being stabbed in me. It was faint, and I could barely feel it however I could. My chest was tight, and somehow, I was forgetting to breathe. My chest was being pressed on, multiple times, pumping on me.

But the feelings grew weaker and weaker and before I knew it I was gone.
