I look into the mirror, taking in every detail of my face. The rounded chin, the strands of hair falling in front of my face, everything. As my gaze wanders around my face, I realize something. You can tell a lot about someone from their eyes. Body language is amazing and all, but body language can tell lies. Body language can easily be misread. The eyes though... Those are hard to fake.
Everybody has a different eye color, but that's the least important thing about eyes. That's the most unimportant thing you can find out about someone from their eyes. You can tell if somebody means what they say. You can tell if somebody actually feels the way they say they do. You can tell if somebody feels at all. You can't do that with body language.
Say somebody's laughing and smiling. If you froze that moment and looked into their eyes, what would you see? Would you see joy? Would you see nothing, because their eyes were closed? Would you see something lifeless and dull? What would you see?
Say somebody's walking down the hallway, shoulders back, head up, every ounce of their posture and movement screaming "confidence". Do their eyes say the same? Are their eyes calm and cool? Are they burning with fury? Are they flooded with fear? Are they empty, hollow? Are they saying nothing, nothing at all? What do their eyes say? Not the person themselves, but their eyes?
Eyes can tell you everything, even if the person themself tells you nothing.
