DEMI P.O.V.: today was the second day of our stay in Venice. Nick and I have done many fun things and I have not felt so alive for a long time ... until today, two days after returning home, something changed my mind.
Nick and I were having dinner in the hotel restaurant when my bladder spoke to me.
Demi: oh ... I need to go to the bathroom
Nick: Do you want us to return to the room? we have finished dinner
Demi: no, I'll go to the restaurant bathroom just a few seconds ... wait for me here, maybe we could go for an ice cream
Nick: of course (he smiled at me and I went to the bathroom.)
I was washing my hands when I heard two girls talking in the distance.
X: you know, if Anne has problems with drugs and alcohol is her fault
X: you think?
X: Of course, we don't have to help her ... or she heals herself, or we'll let her die alone and sad
X: but she is our friend
X: we did all we could to help her, the best thing that could happen to her is to die ... and she would free us all of her demons
I know I shouldn't let theses words afect me, but they did. Cause some months ago I was in the same exact position than this Anne girl. Some tears rolled down ny face, I dried them and went directly to te bedroom.
NICK P.O.V.: 20 minutes later, I was waiting for Demi in the restaurant still. I was worried, that's why I went to the bathroom and entered when I saw that it was empty. She wasn't there. I was worried so I went to our bedroom. And there she was, curled up in her bed, looking through the window.
Nick: God, I was worried for you...you never came back
Demi: that's what I'm supposed to do...never come back
Nick: what are you talking about? (I sat in my bed and she turned around to look at me)
Demi: why are you doing all this?I mean, Nick...you can be completely happy with your healthy friends, why insist with me, when I should be dead? (Some tears were rolling down her cheeks)
Nick: what happened? Why are you saying all this?
Demi: I heard something that is actually true...the people with problems like mine...the best we can do to the society is to die
Nick: Demi, no...whatever you heard, that's not true
Demi: Nick, I should've died when everyone left me, I mean, I tried to
Nick: nothing of what you heard is true, there's a lot of people that loves you and...what?

Nick: what do you mean?
Demi: the overdose...I was trying to kill me, and for a moment it worked, I just wish nobody to save me that day...it was an attempt of suicide
