As you can see from the above we're down to our final three! chris_hartley unfortunately this is goodbye for now. Many congratulations for making it this far. Your entries have honestly been pretty awesome and all involved with the judging of said entries have enjoyed your work immensely - we hope to see you again soon, for future contests!

But with all of that being said, soellekhiss GlennKoerner SongofLightAndShadow welcome to the final round! And because it had to be done at some point, this one is all about...

The Kessel Run

We all know at least a little bit about the Maw Cluster and the Kessel Run, but what we want you to do for your final challenge is to go way, way back, to the early years of galactic exploration.

Tell the story of a crew sent out into the unexplored, uncharted region of space that would eventually become the infamous route to Kessel. The exact time period of which you make use is entirely your decision, providing your story is set before the actual events took place.

The Fine Print

Recommended Word Count: 10,000 words

Deadline: Sunday, March 24th at Midnight, Galactic Standard Time (UST, for our purposes)!

Submissions: Via this form only

Things To Consider

The recommended word count is exactly what it says; recommended. You won't be penalised for writing a story above or below that number of words, however do remember it must be a finished story.

This is a one-shot round. All entries must be submitted in the form of a one-shot (not as part of an existing collection) as we will be adding all three, regardless of who the winner might be, to our Twelve Parsecs to Kessel reading list.

1st, 2nd, & 3rd place stickers will be issued upon the conclusion of judging.

The deadline is final, and any stories submitted beyond that will not be considered eligible for judging.

Whilst your entries must be submitted via the above form to be considered eligible for judging, do feel free to post the direct link to your story in the comments' section so your fellow Star Wars Fans might easily locate your efforts.
