Of Arranged Marriages and Flying Slippers

"I'm not leaving!!" yelled the crown Prince Min Yoongi of the Luna Kingdom as he threw a crystal vase at the doorway. King and Queen Min ducked just in time, causing the vase to shatter against a passing guard, subsequently causing him to knock out. At the same exact moment he was dragged off and a servant quickly appeared and swept up the shards of the crystal vase.

"Son, please dont make this anymore difficult," the Queen stated as she ducked once again, avoiding a slipper which hit yet another guard. "You're going to leave this room because I-" exclaimed the King before he was hit with Yoongi's other slipper, square in the face. He was immediately knocked out from the force of the hit and the Queen let out a gasp. A couple of maids dragged the King out of Yoongi's room.

Ya see, Yoongi's attitude towards everyone had changed over the past few days because of two reasons: the first one was the revelation of his arranged marriage with none other than Prince of the Sol Kingdom. The polar opposite of the Luna Kingdom. Yoongi believed he would marry someone from the many Star Kingdoms since he believed they at least had some correlation with the Moon. But the Sol Kingdom? He hated it. Their people were extremely extroverted and jovial. Not that there was any thing wrong with that but it just didnt suit Yoongi's reserved personality. The second reason was simple but unknown to all, even hinself: his heat was coming up. Yoongi was 10× more feistier, 10× more emotional, and 10× more easily upset, all symptoms of a first heat. He was a ticking time bomb ready to explode. But did anyone notice? Not really. There were more things happening, causing everyone to overlook this simple yet not so simple part of an Omega's life.

Yoongi huffed and sat criss cross on his ginormous bed filled with Kumamon plushies. He pouted and felt tears threatening to rush out any moment. He knew he was being difficult but he also knew it was with good reason. He just really didn't want to be married off to someone he didnt know. He had never even seen the Prince of the Sol Kingdom for crying out loud!! Jung Hoseok was his name. What was he like, what did he like, how did he look like?! All these questions and more had filled his mind for the past few days. His wedding was in 7 days and it made him absolutely terrified. Who wouldn't be?!

"I'm scared mom," he said as his tears began to fall. Queen Min rushed to her omega son's side and embraced him. "I know I have to do this but I'm so, so scared," Yoongi stated as sobs began to consume his body. His mother tightened her hold. "Its okay baby, you have an entire kingdom standing right by your side." The Queen stated as she threaded her fingers in between Yoongis hair to calm him down.

They both fell asleep and woke up to the King accompanied by Yoongi's alpha bodyguard and childhood best friend Kim Namjoon. Namjoon's omega apprentice and royal family assassin, Kim Taehyung, also joined them. It was time to leave for the Sol Kingdom in order to prepare for the wedding that would soon take place in 7 days.

Meanwhile in the Sol Kingdom's palace kitchen...

"I wonder what he's like," whispered alpha Prince Hoseok softly as he gazed out of the large window dreamily to the setting sun in the horizon. A plate of chopped up mamey was placed in front of him by none other than Kim Seokjin, Jin for those close to him, the Sol Kingdom's prized number one chef. A beta.

Betas were extremely rare and unique. Some possessed unique abilities, were extremely talented, and of all, were known for their beauty. Some people even said that they challenged the beauty of the moon goddess! But even with all these characteristics, they were the minority and led hard lives. "I hear Yoongi's immensely beautiful. Not as beautiful as I am though," Jin said as he flipped his hair to the side dramatically. A laugh was heard from the doorway and both individuals turned to see Jeon Jungkook, Hoseok's alpha bodyguard and son to the Sol Kingdom's army commander in chief. "I wonder if there will be any available betas or omegas," he said as he joined Hoseok at the window. Hoseok elbowed him and he let out a chuckle. "Ha, I doubt any of them would pay any attention to you with that cocky attitude of yours," giggled Jin as a scowl formed on Jungkook's face.

"What about you Jin? I think it's time you found yourself a partner," asked Hoseok as he took a bite out of the mamey. Jin's gaze was lost in the setting sun as a soft, melancholic smile spread across his face. "No one wants a beta for a mate, no matter how beautiful and rare we may be."

Silence overtook the trio of friends, each of them lost in their own thoughts of their impending futures.

"If I didn't see you as a brother, then I'd want you as a mate Jin!" Exclaimed Jungkook suddenly as he gave his friend one of his signature "bunny" smiles. "I second that," Hoseok stated as he gave Jin a blinding smile, rivaling the suns brightness. "Yah, stop it you two," Jin said as he embraced his two friends. It was moments like these where Jin couldn't ask for anything more. He had two friends who truly cared for him, no matter what he was. He had the entire royal family who cared for him as well and citizens from the Sol Kingdom who loved him. It would be nice to have a mate, but Jin knew better than to hope for something that could very well be pointless. "Thanks for cheering me up," he said as he ruffled both of their hairs. Jin snatched a piece of mamey as he sat down to gaze out at the setting sun and rising moon.
