Mas lalo namang napangiti si Robyne sa sinabi nito. White lilies are her mom's favorite flowers. She remembered they always had white lilies in a vase on the top of their dining table.

"We then started dating. My two-week vacation in France was extended into three months. A lot of people were against in our relationship. They say I was too old for your mother. She was 23 and I was 42. Your grandfather was very against it as well. He forced me to go home. And I did. I promised your mother that I'll come back..."

Arthur paused for a minute. Robyne just stared at her dad whom she noticed a glint of regret in his two eyes.

"Your grandfather suddenly had a heart attack. He died after. I was the eldest. I was expected to handle all of our properties and businesses. It was hell."

"And you never came back..." Robyne uttered. Her father sighed.

"I was too focused on my work that I forgot about the promise I made with Angelie. I wasn't expecting either that the businesses that your grandfather left behind were in the ruins. Kailangan kong magfocus para ma-ibangon ulit ang mga negosyo natin... and I did. I tried to find your mother and I learned the she resigned from her work and from singing. It was until... she contacted me herself about you... You were just fourteen. She told me all about you. I got her pregnant and she didn't even bother telling me the truth. But when you were diagnosed with Lupus and needed a kidney transplant, nobody matched. Even your own mother wasn't a match to you. It was her last resort to ask me help and I did. I was so happy that we matched, Robyne. I couldn't bear the thought of losing my daughter... the daughter of the only woman whom I truly loved."

"But our time together was short. The night of your surgery, your mother was in a rush to come back in the hospital. She got into an accident. If only I could turn back time..."

Robyne smiled. She held his dad's hands which were currently resting on top of the table, "I know... kung nasaan man si Mama ngayon, she's happy. I'm happy too... I may not be vocal about it but I love you, Dad."

Arthur smiled at her and kissed his daughter's hand, "I want you to be happy. I always want you to be happy... if only I could give you my life so you can live longer, I will willingly give it to you."

Robyne smiled tightly and bit her lower lip after, feeling guilty, "I'm sorry..."

Yes, she was sorry. She was sorry for not taking good care of her body. For abusing everything that she has - without thinking that her Dad gave half of his life, his kidney to her so she could live.

"Andres Emilio..." Her Dad suddenly mentioned her boyfriend's name, "He's a good man."

She giggled, "He is."

Lio wasn't usually her type of guy but then... sometimes, it's just the opposite. It would defy your usual ideals.

"Have you told him?"

Bigla naman siyang natahimik sa sinabi nito. She sighed and shook her head.

She knew the relationship she currently has with Emilio won't last long. They're just attracted to each other and it is a breath of fresh air. It's just for fun. That's it. Nothing serious. It won't become serious.

He doesn't need to know.

"Hindi na niya kailangan malaman." She answered, her voice firm.
