7. HUNTING TROPHY
'By Jove!' exclaimed Colonel Bramley as he admired the long elongated shape on the wall of Henri's hunting lodge. 'That's a splendid creature ... so well preserved.'
Henri beamed with pride. 'It's a 3 pointer. Had a couple of young with it, but I left those for the amateurs. Igor and the Bean guards separated him from the pack and drove him north. Two days I tracked him ... bagged him with my first shot.'
The Colonel lifted his snifter of brandy in a toast. 'He looks almost alive.'
'My taxidermist is second to none. Of course, they're mushy inside and the yellow pelt tends to turn brown quickly, so it's important to freeze the body as soon as possible.'
'Then you carbonize?'
'Yes,' said Henri, reaching up to tap the banana. It was rock solid.
He sighed and clinked glasses with the old boy. 'Happy memories.
