we started talking and hanging out again. it was different than before, but not in a bad way. we had both changed and matured. i learned that she was actually really good at cheerleading. she wasn't just on the team at school, but she also did it competitively outside of school. she actually seemed really happy. happier than i remember her being. they were still dating, but she told me that he was changing. she said that he was aware of how he acted and was working on himself. i wasn't sure if i believed that, but i kept that thought to myself.
