I'm Erin.

I wanted to give you a little background into my life and story.

"The Homecoming Queen," my first full length novel adventure.

I have Cerebral Palsy (CP), the same condition, Carmen, has in this story.

If you are unfamiliar with CP, it is "a condition marked by impaired muscle coordination (spastic paralysis) and/or other disabilities, typically caused by damage to the brain before or at birth."(Cerebralpalsy.org)

I use a walker daily.

I have used an electric scooter & wheelchair throughout my school years after many extensive surgeries on my legs and hips.

Cerebral Palsy is different for everyone, some people use wheelchairs, while others walk or use different mobility devices.

This story in no way accounts for all experiences that people with disabilities face.

We all experience daily interactions, people, and inaccessibility in different ways.

There are a handful of diverse experiences for all of us to learn from.

So when you read this story, try your best to remain open-minded about different viewpoints.

I am unsure why I wrote this book, but as all stories begin, it starts by wanting to tell a story.

On a personal note, I hope that all who stumble upon this story can be objective about it's message.

It's not my intention to hurt or offend anyone, but there are certain perspectives about disabilities that aren't always portrayed by traditional media.

Whether you have a disability or not, I hope you can feel empowered by this message.

You are not alone, you are beautiful, strong, and fabulous.

Be proud of yourself and love your body the way it is.

We are united, we are strong, and our voices need to be heard!

We are united, we are strong, and our voices need to be heard!
