All my friends we're glorious

Iris couldn't believe the plan was actually working, she might as well have called it a miracle.

The instant she'd grasped a hold of Thanos, Peter had swung around, winding webs around him. And when he started to slide, those robotic, metal, spider arms Iris had seen before popped out to stabilize him. Quill came running by and threw a magnet (just like the one he used on her, mind you) capturing his other, gauntlet free hand. Red-tattoo man was- holding onto his leg? Iris didn't exactly see what was going, on, but she was a little busy to question it.

Then it got weirder.

Oh, because it wasn't weird enough for you?

It was, believe me.

Stephen relinquished his hold and opened another one of his portals directly over purple dude's head.

And down came antenna girl, she plopped right on his shoulders. Her hands found their way quickly to his temples, and Thanos yelled in fury of being outsmarted. The tips of her antennas glowed, and after a moment, grape boy's eyes gloss over and fall to the back of his head.

Tony flew in again and rushed to the gauntlet hand. "Is he under? Don't let up."

"Be quick, He is very strong." Jesus Christ, she sounded pained. Iris winced a little as her own pain poked at her. The pressure in his fingers had returned, and leftover pain from holding the spaceship had returned, like exercising an open wound.

"Yes, please be quick. I want to go home."

"Suck it up Supergirl. Parker, get over here, they can't hold him much longer." Peter rushed over, withdrawing his webs and grabbed ahold of the golden glove with Tony.

In her peripheral vision, Iris saw Quill land next to them. He pressed a button on the side of his mask and it retracted. "Nice for you to show up Quill, care for a piece of this?" Iris jerked her head in the direction of Thanos. He promptly ignored her and strode up to him.

"I thought you'd be harder to catch. For the record, this was my plan. Not so strong now, huh? Where's Gamora?" Iris shifted her weight, still keeping an eye on Thanos and Quill. Something about the way the air crackled between them let her know shit was about to go down and fast.

"My Gamora." The titan groaned out like he was half-asleep. Quill snarked right back.

"Oh, bullshit. Where is she?"

Goddamnit Quill, get it together. You can finish your pissy fight after we're done.

Naturally, Quill couldn't hear her inner thoughts, and the conversation continued. Antenna girl cried out in pain, translating what Thanos was feeling.

"He is in anguish!"

"Good." Iris' eyebrows rose at that remark. She disliked a number of people, nobody was perfect, but she didn't necessarily wish suffering upon them.

"H-he mourns!" She was just about crying now, Iris was about to point this fact out to the other when someone else butted in first.

"What does this monster have to mourn?" Iris looked around to see if anyone else was just as confused as she was, all while keeping a hold on Thanos. Nebula stood nearby, the realization of something horrible dawning on her face. Iris braced for impact.
