Once the young couple got home, they did their best to put themselves back together. Their families hates them and their child was killed because of that hate.
It took a long time, but eventually they tried again. Nine months later they had two beautiful boys. They built a life for themselves in America.
When the time came their sons (and younger set of twin girls) went to Ilvermorny instead of Hogwarts. Leo and Orion were brilliant well behaved boys, but their sisters were two genius pranksters who could have given Fred and George a run for their money.
As for the Potter/Weasley and the Malfoy families back in Britain, they never stopped fighting with one another. They also never truly forgave themselves for pushing their children away.
