Seed

I wish I was stronger
stronger
stronger, like the seed
bundled up in the thinnest shell
drills up through rock
untangling weed
so tender and small
ripped apart from mother's womb
by gelid hands
strong winds in fall
patiently waits
waits
waits buried to darkness
lonely and cold
when sun slightly kisses
she takes off her blanket
determined and bold
and fights
fights
fights all by herself
everyday strong
stretching arms, growing roots
"the sky is the limit", she says
even when the road is on dirt, and long.
