I Have Almost Forgotten...

I have almost forgotten
your voice...
a whispering memory
a fading sound to my ears
and I don't remember
did it bring tears?
or was it joy?

I have almost forgotten
your name...
like a dead tongue
a vocable not more spoken
an obsolete figure of speech
never it compelled
any reasons to reach
a word now misspelled.

I have almost forgotten
your eyes...
dark orbs, infinitely empty
like the night
without stars
without the moon light
once,
maybe once
they mirrored my face
now they're dull and blight
a black hole in another space.

I have almost forgotten
the smell of your skin...
a feeble scent of lavender
soothing, numbing
making me dream
but when the north gale's blowing
a sudden strike of musk and wine
of sweat and glory
I refuse, I shall never deem.

I have almost forgotten
your kisses...
a slight touch from the past
on my lips -perhaps craving-
that luscious blast
of softness, of warmth
perhaps wanting
wishing to remember
and never to forget
your kisses
that, that I'll regret!
