Entering my apartment, drenched completely, I brushed off my sadness, and took a warm shower.
As I stood there, with my radio on quietly in the background, I thought about how likely it was I'd never see Dan again. We lived so far apart, and he was so busy. Sure, we'd text, but tnat wasn't the same as physically talking to him and Phil.
I really did love spending the love couple of days with him - and I hoped that feeling was mutual.
The warm water rinsing over my bare shoulders relaxed me, the tension slipping out of my muscles as I stood.
Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to doing the closing shift tonight. It was going to be so boring without Dan.
Disdain slithered through my stomach as I thought about three more hours at work on my day off, finishing at seven and getting home at atleast 7:30.
Turning the water off, I stepped out the shower and wrapped a towel around me.
After I was dry, I decided I really needed to go shopping. I threw my clothes from yesturday (and this morning) into my hamper, and pulled on some leggings, black heeled boots and a grey woolen jumper.
I sighed, feeling emptiness and boredom.
Shrugging my coat onto my shoulders, then pulling a scarf around my neck and a hat onto my head, I slung my bag onto my shoulder as I stepped back outside into the rain, which had slowed now.
Catching a tram down to the super market was easy as always, and I leapt off at my stop, trudging into supermarket, the industrial white glow of the lights a complete opposition to the blankness outside. I couldn't wait to December-January time, when it snows beautifully, and the cold becomes worth it.
Although it was September now, it hadn't snowed yet, surprisingly, eventhough the snow months can last from Early October until May.
Grabbing a box of cereal, I threw it into the basket I was holding and ran to get some milk and butter.
By the end of the shop, I had plenty of food, and was by far ready to head home and eat some lunch.

It was just gone 2:40 when I got back, and I knew Dan and Phil must be at the airport now, perhaps going through security? Thankfully, the rain had practically stopped, meaning the walk to work was going to be much more pleasant, though it was getting colder now; and would be much darker when I was heading back.
I had about 50 minutes before I had to leave to make it down to work in time, and yet in the free time I had, I couldn't find anything to occupy my mind. Sitting on my bed huddled under a blanket, I pulled my laptop from my bedside table, deciding to turn to tumblr to distract myself from my churning mind.
Time passed faster than it should have, and before long, I had to pry myself away from my warm bed, and slip my shoes back on. Stepping outside, my phone buzzed in my pocket. As I headed down the road from my house, I checked the text message that had popped up on the screen.

30 mins early yay

okay, good luck
at work.
Grinning, I stepped up onto the curb of the tram station, pursing my lips as I looked down at the phone in my cold hand.
I got home okay,
it's all fine!
Heading to work

I pursed my lips slightly, wondering if it was weird to send a kiss or not, but sent it anyway, and continued to wait for the little tram to come down the track.

After closing up, I began to head back home, while I was working it had tried to snow, though hadn't managed to settle due to the fact the ground was still wet. The air was icy, like always, though the sky was overcast and dim. The walk home was painfully slow and by the time I got into my apartment, my nose was stinging badly and my lips were chapped and dry
.
Getting into bed felt amazing, my covers enveloping my freezing body. I had, had to put on fluffy socks and a jumper because my bedroom always seemed to be chilly at this time of year. Propping myself up on the bed pillow, I reached for my phone, and glossed over the notifications. There was several from Dan.
