THE TWINS WAS A WELCOMED SIGHT for Robb Stark and his men. They had come too far and lost too many men, it had almost felt like they would never reach. "It's nothing," Theon says holding up a scroll written in Lord Walder Frey's writing. "A birthday message to his grand-niece Walda."
"Or so he'd have you think." Robb chided reading over the messy scrawl.
"Keep shooting them down," Lady Catelyn came to stand next to her son. "We wouldn't want Lord Frey sending word of your movements to the Lannister's."
Robb exhaled, signalling Theon to follow as directed before settling his sights back on the Twins. He was so close to victory he could practically taste. "'Is grandfather's bannermen, we can't expect his support. The best thing we can hope for now is clearance to pass the bridge, at whatever the cost may be."
"Looks, like we've got company." Greatjon pointed as two men on horseback, carrying the Frey's banner closed in on them.
This was it, Robb thought straightening his back and squaring his shoulders a bit. He felt as his mother's hand clasped around his forearm. "Father rots in a dungeon. How long before they take his head?" Time was going by quicker than even he had planned, the Lannister forces though not defeating them, had managed to slow their descent south. "We need to cross the Trident and we need to do it today!"
