KEIRA CARRIED HER HEAVY BAG AND her guitar to the mini van to pack, after all she was a member of the band starting that day so she might as well take her guitar on the road trip wether she got to play or not.

She sighed as she got in the back seat after Danvor. They were going to drive all the way to Chadstone. It was almost an 8 hours drive. They had to take the mini van in order to carry all their instruments. Besides it was what they used to travel each time the band got to play somewhere.

Keira looked at her house and the familiar neighborhood as they passed.

I will be back soon. And Jason and Jasper would be there with me. She thought to herself, determined. They were all she had left. She was willing to do anything just bring them back home, safe.

Keira and Danvor started laughing probably for the 10th time. Talking of something lame or silly and laughing like idiots. They didn't mind at all. In fact Keira wanted to laugh after all she had been going through.

As Noel was fast asleep on his seat, Ashton found their bickering very annoying and distracting.

"Stop being silly" Keira said through giggles.

"I'm not! I'm telling the truth" Danvor threw his head back and laughed.

"Why would anyone adopt you all the way from England because they think you sing well" Keira eyed him suspiciously. "Besides you usually play the drums" she stated.

Danvor stopped laughing and smiled at her. "I know it's hard to believe, but it is the truth. I moved to Australia because I was taken here by my parents" he replied seriously. "The main reason was they admired my talent".

Well he is talented. She thought. And Danvor knew she bought it. He heard her thoughts as she believed it.

Danvor couldn't help but laugh once again. She believed him the first time he lied. When he said that he moved to Australia because his pet squirrel died. And now she believed him again. Danvor didn't think she was dumb, instead he saw her innocence. As someone who wanted to see the good in everyone. That was why she believed people so quickly. Although for Keira, that was something he disliked about herself.

"Why are you laughing?".

"You lied again didn't you! See! I knew it was a lie" she continued.

Little did she know Danvor knew that she actually fell for it.

"Sorry" he said still laughing. "I moved here with my family. The reason is sort of business related. Besides my dad's brothers live here" Danvor shrugged. He obviously couldn't tell her the real reason why they had to move.

Keira nodded understanding. She noticed Ashton throwing annoyed looks towards them from the mirror.

Is he jealous?

Danvor couldn't help but scoff at her thoughts. Of course it was Ashton. He would've been surprised if she didn't have a crush on him. But was she sort of desperate? No. She was not. Not compared to most of the girls that wanted him. Well thank god he was an only child in his family, otherwise he would've felt bad for the other sibling.

Danvor envied the fact the he was the only one who inherited the power. Or according to him, who was cursed. His power of hearing others thoughts when he looked in to their eyes, was something that was passed on in his family.

As his father told him it was a result of his great grandfather and his friend's experiment. They were just experimenting to give sight to the blind but instead the chemical allowed to read minds. At first they had thought it was another failure, but instead they found the chemical to something much more valuable.

Danvor was very excited when he first discovered he could read minds at the age of thirteen, but did he really want to know what people thought of him? What his friends thought of him? No. He'd rather stay normal. But he wasn't. It wasn't his choice to make.

They drove for four hours when they finally pulled at a diner to eat. Noel slept all the way, and he was disappointed to know that they hadn't reached Chadstone when Ashton woke him up.

"Do you think that maybe my brothers also stopped somewhere around here? Maybe we should try asking people" Keira voiced her thoughts.

They were seated in a booth at the corner, waiting for their food to arrive.

"Guess it's worth a shot" Ashton shrugged as the other two agreed with her.

She regretted that she didn't think of it before. She should've checked other places.

She walked out of the booth with Danvor behind her.

She took out her phone and took a picture of her brothers. She asked the waitress, Sophia as it was pinned on her blue pink and blue apron.

She shook her head while chewing her gum. She said she couldn't remember.

Keira walked over to the girl who stood behind the counter.

She showed the picture. "Hey? By any chance have you seen them anywhere?"

She squinted her eyes trying to recognize who was in the picture. Unlike the girl before she watched closely trying to recollect her memory.

"Yeah I think so" she nodded remembering. "I'm not sure exactly when but it was few days ago

Keira's eyes lit up with anticipation "really?".

"Yeah. They came with a woman. I suppose their mother and two other men with suits" she said and turned to pay attention a customer.

A woman? Who could it have been?.

She was glad they were alright. They were eating properly. Surely that was why the kidnappers brought them here didn't they? But how were they doing now? Were they okay? She couldn't stop herself from worrying.

She walked back to the booth and when she turned she noticed that Danvor had stopped at the counter.

After the customer left the counter taking their food, Danvor took his phone out and showed the waitress a picture.

"Was she the woman you saw?" Danvor asked hoping she would say no.

But unfortunately her answer was the opposite of what he wanted hear.

"Yeah it was her" she replied uninterestedly.

Even though he hated to admit it, it had been confirmed now. His mother was involved with the kidnapping.

But the question remained why?

Why his mother kidnapped her brothers.
