Stevie Wonder was born six weeks premature in 1950, and doctors allegedly didn't possess the knowledge that the highly oxygenated environments of newborn incubators could damage the human eye. Wonder is said to have suffered the consequences, suffering the rest of his life blind.

Over the years, skeptics have poked holes in his story. Sportswriter Bomani Jones, a noted Stevie truther, points to the visual imagery in his songs, his preference for sitting courtside at NBA games, and his reputation as a childhood prankster. The late NBA star Darryl Dawkins, whose nickname "Chocolate Thunder," which came from Wonder, claims that the music legend can see.
