"What ever do you mean?" I asked Laf with curiosity.

"My father believes that I should down and marry a wealthy woman, I'm not a fan of arranged marriages. They are just business transactions. I don't want to marry a wealthy woman. I want to marry for love, not to say I won't marry a wealthy woman. I would if I loved her I mean-"

I interrupted him. "Laf?"

"Oui?"

"You're ranting." I nearly laughed.

"Oh. Sorry" He realized with a smile.

"It's fine" I told him. He nodded to me.

"What about you?" He asked me.

"What do you mean?" I asked with confusion.

"How does your father not, how you say, approve of your choices?" He looked at me.

"Actually," I started. "Same as you" I smiled at him. We were actually pretty similar. Oh God. I think I'm falling for him...

King George's Pov:

"Father?" I didn't realize I had zoned out.

"Yes George?" I asked my first born son.

"Should we send more troops to America?" He looked at me. I sighed. George didn't have what it takes to be king. Sure he had confidence, but he wasn't as strong as he needed to be to rule a kingdom.

"No" I told him blankly.

"W-what?" He looked baffled. "If we send too much troops to America then we would be too vulnerable. We have to much enemies. Anybody could attack us." My son had a lot to learn before he can become king.

Lafayette's Pov:

I had a fun time talking with Smith. He was a pretty okay guy. We were pretty similar.

"Well... I'm gonna, how you say, hit the hay?" I told Jackson, noticing how dark it was.

"Okay, night." Smith told me.

"bonne nuit" I told him. (good night)

I then got in my cot and closed my eyes. I breathed in through my nose and out through my mouth. I then let sleep overtake me.

(Y/N)'s Pov:

I watched Lafayette sleep. I know that makes me sound like a creepy stalker, but he's just too adorable. I noticed him smiling in his sleep. He must be having a good dream. I haven't been getting those lately. Lafayette dying on the battle field keeps replaying in my head. I am not the girl who requires a man to get by. I can't fall for him. He thinks I'm a guy! How could he love me back?

After awhile of me staring at him he let out a small snore. It was so adorable! I nearly squealed. Oh my God. (Y/N) this is not like you! I don't squeal. What happened to me?

I took out something I hadn't seen in awhile. It was at the bottom of my trunk so I had to do some digging. After I got it I looked up at Lafayette to see if I woke him. No, he was sleeping like a baby. I looked at the object in my hand. It was a golden pocket watch. I touched the front softly with my fingers. It had a beautiful crown carved on the front. I clicked the button that allowed the watch to open. I read the note carved on one side. 'Happy Birthday (Y/N) - Your mother, Charlotte Frederick'

I missed my mother dearly. This all suddenly got real. I already thought it was real. I guess I was wrong.

"Smith?" I heard a small voice with a french accent speak. It went silent. All I could hear was my breathing.

"Yes?" I asked quietly.

"Why are you awake" Laf asked me. I didn't say anything. I was too scared to break the awkward silence. I saw a shadowy figure get out of his cot. I quickly put the pocket watch back in my trunk. If anyone saw it, I would be done for. I let out a sigh.

"What's wrong?" I heard Lafayette asks me. I just shook my head.

"Nothing's wrong"

He looked at me skeptically.

"I'm just a little homesick, that's all."

"I understand." Laf started. "You want me to tell you a secret?" He smiled at me.

"A secret?" I asked with a laugh. "What are we? Teenage girls?"

"Haha" He said sarcastically. "On my first night here," he looked around as if to see if anyone was watching him. This earned a chuckle from me. "I cried like a baby 'cause I missed my family so much."

I laughed. "That's nice" I responded. He looked at me with soulful eyes. I wanted to kiss him right then and there.

He looked me in the eye. "Don't tell anyone."

"kay"
