EXTENDED SUMMARY Zack Morris has a lot of doubts. For one thing, there's his childhood, which consists of fuzzy memories of a half remembered life. His parents are distant and willing to spoil him, but he's never seen any paternal affection in their eyes. There's the tiny tattoo on the inside of his arm bearing 04, and a vague story about getting a little bit too drunk at a party. Most importantly, there's the thing about time. Or really, how he can stop it. He's not quite sure when or where this mysterious ability stems from, but he's had it for as long as he can remember, and besides the constant nosebleeds and lightheadedness, it comes in handy 100% of the time. When Zack learns that his parents aren't really his parents, and that they've been sending reports on him to some place in Hawkins, Indiana, Zack does what he does best, and freezes time. He hightails it out of his sunny home in California and away from his parents to figure out who he is and where he came from. ( And if he meets a handsome boy along the way, who's going to stop him from going for that? )
NOTES • this is a shameless saved by the bell crossover don't come for me
• for those of you who don't know, zack in saved by the bell does this thing where he says "time out!" and basically breaks the fourth wall, which is where ive based his power from because heck yeah
• so how i was thinking his power would work in universe wouldn't be actually stopping time, but he can affect how other people perceive time. he could either make them feel as though time is moving very very slowly or even dirt quickly, even if little time has passed. the more people he brings into the illusion the harder it is to maintain and the worse his reaction is afterwards
• zack is the only character that needs to transfer over though so you don't really need to have watched the show to write this because the show has no bearing on this story
• zack's "parents" are scientists at hawkins lab who took zack to a less controlled environment to see how that would effect his powers. his memories are fake and his real parents are alive, but it's up to you whether or not he ever meets them ( him going off in search of them would make a decent quick exit to end the story though )
• i was thinking that he would meet steve at the party in the start of season 2 and then feel really bad for him because of the "bullshit" scene and kind of watch him and try his best to become friends with him because steve harrington is a handsome boy and zack recognizes that
• zack morris is an unapologetic, opportunistic asshole, so he isn't going to willingly help the gang because that would only put him in danger duh. it's the power of love that makes him want to do something for more than his own selfish gain, which is how he's used to operating
• you could bring this into season 3 or even start it sometime during season 1 if you wanted im not picky
