EXTENDED SUMMARY: At the center of a spiderweb there is a choice or incident. And every silk thread that branches from the middle is a separate outcome, each one existing within its own universe.
010 knows this because in this scenario she is cursed with being the spider.
And the strain of trying to reach other universes outside of her little web is what ends up killing her. At least that version of her.
NOTES: — Hawkins Lab wants 010 to reach alternate universes and that's how she discovers the void. The void is the space between each universe or outcome.
— The strain ends up killing her but because her powers were so unstable, she accidentally transports another version of herself into Hawkins.
— Birdie wakes up in the woods outside of her universe and transports herself to the void where Eleven finds her and tells her to come look for her
— She ends up outside Dustin's house where he realizes she's the Birdie who went missing in Hawkins at the age of 3 and hides her in his room
— ^^ The party is wary of her considering she was presumed "dead" in their universe but she explains that in her universe Will was dead but in this outcome he's alive
— She can sense/take herself to different outcomes but taking a whole town or group of people can mess with the threads of alternate universes
— She joins the party during the timeframe of episode two/three*
— She's resourceful and can obviously talk more than Eleven since she's not the version of herself that was raised at the lab
— Her and Dustin should not be the main focus of the story and they shouldn't kiss to make it more angsty at the end*
— Sad ending bc she knows she can't ever go back to her home and if Eleven dies the Demogorgon will kill everyone so she uses all of her powers to sacrifice herself and take Hawkins into the outcome where Eleven survives in the Upside Down before telling Mike "I'm sorry." when El disappears
— By her bringing them into a different universe the Upside Down comes with it and is mutated which is why it's grown and spread in season two
