Unable to keep it all in, I blurt out everything that's in my heart to my confidante, my elder sister.

She laughs at first and then smirks, telling me that she knows the speaker guy as he happens to be a good friend of her husband.

I do not ask her who he is though, because knowing that will only add to my misery.

She then tells me that whatever I felt for him is not love. It can't be love. While she knows that he indeed is an amazing person, no matter how beautiful his thoughts and views are, she says that real love is entirely different. It involves really knowing the person as they really are, flaws and all.

Besides, exterior appearances sometimes can be misleading.

She more or less repeats the same lecture I've been giving myself.

However one particular quote hits me in the feels and I repeat it over and over until it echoes in every fibre of my being.

What is not meant for you will not reach you even if it is right in front of your eyes. And what is meant for you will find a way to reach you even if it is miles and miles below the deep sea.
