I love you's - SM

(y/n)'s POV:

I sigh in boredom, waiting for Shawn, my husband, to come home. We have been in quarantine for about 4 months now. My workplace shut down at the beginning so I have been home these last few months. Luckily Shawn was still working. He had been in the studio almost all day today. Today was a little different. I wanted to talk to him about something.

I unlock my phone and play some of Shawn's songs. There's nothing holdin' me back began to play. I quickly got up and started to dance to it as I sang along. This was my go-to party song.

"Baby there's nothing holdin' me back. Na na na na ..." I sing. 

Out of no where, a pair of arms lift me the air and spins me around. It was Shawn.

"Gosh. You so adorable. I love you" he says.

"But I love you more" I reply. I knew where this conversation was heading but I wanted to go along with it.

"I love you even more. " 

We have this arguments sometimes about who loves the other more. And we just start naming all the things we have done for each other and what we are willing to do. We normally stop shortly after.

"I cut off all contact with Camila for you, (y/n)." he says.

"But didn't you tell me that she started being rude to you?"

"Well no. She kept flirting with me in front of you and I knew that it made you uncomfortable or even jealous."

"Hey! I was not jealous, Mendes. I was just--" I get cut off mid-sentence as Shawn kisses me out of nowhere. Now this means that our argument ends. We slowly pull apart.

"Alright, I'm gonna take a quick shower and be back soon."

"Okay, I'll get dinner ready"

*A few moments later*

"How was work today?" I ask.

"Pretty good. We wrote a couple more songs today and we completed a recording for one of them." he replies.

"Ooo I can't wait to hear it. What's it about?"

"Well I don't want to spoil it but I'm going to tell you that it is about what the future may hold for us."

"That's nice". What a coincidence. I actually wanted to talk to Shawn about it. "So I actually wanted to talk to you about something" He nods as he eats.

"I'm not gonna beat around the bush. I'm just gonna ask you. What do you think about having kids soon?" He almost chokes on his food. I quickly pass him a glass of water. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to shock you. I just wanted to know how you feel. Lately I've been thinking about this and with quarantine I'm already home."

"This definitely caught me off-guard but I'm ready whenever you are. This thought did come to me the other day but I didn't say it because I wanted you to bring it up when you were ready. Also we will be wrapping up things in the studio by the end of this month, then I'll be home with you." He reaches out to my hand and gives it a squeeze. I give him a soft smile.

"I love you, Shawn."

"I love you too, (y/n)."
