"Come on (Y/N)! Please come with me, just this once!" Pete pleaded.

"No! I hate those release parties! Why can't you just go by yourself?! I'm sure you'll make friends." I fought back.

Pete was trying to get me to go to his stupid release record party for 'Tommy' with him. And even though I support his music and all that, I'd been to one of them with him before, and let's just say, it was the most boring thing I've encountered in my entire life.

And apparently, The Who got into a big fight right before they finished the record, so now they weren't speaking to each other.

"But I'm bad at making friends!" He begged again. "And since you're my best friend, if you're there, I won't have to talk to anyone else!"

"You know what," I said, now feeling a little bad for him. "I'll go with you."

"Yes!" Pete exclaimed, happy to have a friend. "Thank you!"

"But you owe me big time."

"Yeah, of course."

"And," I wasn't finished. "You're picking me up. My house, eight o' clock."

Pete rolled his eyes, but didn't say no. "Fine."

He walked to the front door of my house and opened it. "I'll be back at eight."

By the time Pete got to my house I was dressed and ready to go.

I was wearing anything too fancy, just a white dress with my hair in waves. I put on some lipgloss and walked out of my room once I heard the doorbell.

I got downstairs and opened the front door, revealing Pete in just a basic suit and tie.

"Hello." I said after a couple moments of silence with Pete staring at me.

"Uh...hi, yes hi. Are you ready to go?" He blushed, making me chuckle a bit.

    "Yeah, I'm ready."

And with that, we walked into his car, talking about all the possibilities that could possibly happen that night.

The drive wasn't too long, and before I knew it, we were there.

I took a deep breath and walked inside, Pete right behind me.

Right away I knew the party was going to be boring, so I didn't pay much attention to anything Pete did or what he said to the famous people he met. Until one thing caught my attention.

It was Keith Moon, surprisingly not that drunk, slinging his arm around Pete. He smiled and almost shouted the words that came out of his mouth.

"Ah," he spoke. "Another great album is out and done! We couldn't have done it without you Pete!" He smiled one last time and walked away.

Once he was gone Pete quickly looked at me and his face went red, making me realize he had told me a lie.

"So I guess you and the guys weren't in a big fight after all?" I questioned, laughing softly.

"Oh, you know Keith," he tried to play it off. "Always drunk."

"Mmm, he didn't seem that drunk to me," I said. "In fact he seemed perfectly sober." I smiled and waited for Pete to reply.

"Okay, look, I'm sorry (Y/N). I didn't mean to lie to you, I just..." his sentence drifted off. "I just wanted to be here with you."

"What?" I asked, not really processing what he was saying.

"I like being around you." He grinned and looked down at the ground. "So much that I want to be with you all the time."

I couldn't help but feel butterflies myself. I grabbed ahold of his hand and intertwined our fingers.

"Well I guess I forgive you then." I smiled, making him laugh.

And I couldn't help but like release parties after that night.

Hey! I'm so sorry for being off this story for so long. I had a lot to do, but I'm back now and I'll try to write more frequently. Please send in requests if you have any! -Liz :)
