Chapter 28: sorting things out

Heathers POV

"Colby." You hug him and he hugs back laughing a little.
"This is so ridiculous." He says
"No no no! It's wonderful. I'm so glad you told me. You know, it takes a lot of gut to do what you just did. I'm proud of you baby cakes." I say and he chuckles.
"What shall I do though, you're brennens girlfriend, this is gonna be so awkward." He says to me looking in my eyes
"I think the question is, what about Lottie?"
"I broke up with her. I had to. I couldn't hide myself anymore. I've been sleeping on the floor and she's moving out soon. When you live with Brennen I'll probably take Aaron's spot on the couch." Colby replied
After a short conversation about everything we agree to keep it secret for now. I want to be happy, but I want Colby to be happy too. Maybe I can find out if Brennen is gay too, that way, I can match them...
"Heather?" Brennen says. "Are you okay? You're staring into space."
"Yeah I'm good, just went into a moment, ya know?" I reply
"Yeah. Anyway wanna head back to my place to chill for the night?" He offers.
"Sure, I think Aaron could do with a bed for a while, he is so uncomfortable on the couch." I say, and with that we walk out of the house saying our goodbyes to everyone and cuddle up for a movie.

During movie on text to Colby.

C: hey
H: hey, sorry I left, I don't want Aaron to sleep on the couch too much it's a back killer
C: I understand.
H: you know, Brennen seems a bit off with me at the moment. Almost as if he isn't interested in me. But when I talk about you he's happy and bubbly.
C: really?
H: I think he might be bisexual because he looks at me like I'm heaven but he looks at you like you're god.
C: stop it I'm blushing ☺️
H: want me to find out? You might have a chance.
C: no. You and Brennen are a couple I just have to accept that.
H: yeah but is he happy with me? I'll ask him about it and update you, but I won't mention you. I promise
C: pinky promise?
H: pinky promise baby cakes!
C: talk soon, love you
H:love you too Colby. Good night boo 🔥
C: 🤟😄
