Chapter Seven

Cassie's POV

I toss around in my covers, feeling very uncomfortable. I sit up in my bed, feeling drained. I didn't sleep at all during the hours after lunch yesterday. I can't believe what happened yesterday, I just can't wrap my head around it. I'm just as shocked as Rose is about Harry's feelings for me. If I knew things would probably be so different.

My alarm goes off, I sigh as I get up and step towards my closet, opening the doors and pulling out jeans and a hoodie. I move to pull off my pajamas and I take a glance at myself in the mirror.

My eyes are bloodshot and my cheeks are puffier than usual. I forgot to take off my makeup, the marks evident on my face. I pull my hair into a ponytail, not caring how I look. I wipe off my makeup and apply power and mascara, leaving it at that.

I pull my jeans on, grabbing my boots and pushing them on my feet. I zip up my hoodie and move downstairs, seeing my happy family in the kitchen.

"Morning honey," my mom smiles while flipping a pancake.

"How'd you sleep pumpkin?" My father asks, kissing my forehead.

"Horrible." I respond, not wanting to talk about it.

The clock reads seven. "I should go, don't wanna be late."

I walk out the door and get into my car, speeding out of the driveway. I turn into the school lot, and watch as my friends' cars are parked and they're all talking quietly, looking like they're happy. Happy without me.

I park a row behind the one I usually do, not wanting to cause a scene. I grab my bag and open my door, most of the students eyes on me.

Liam looks over at me and blinks, taking a good look at me. The group disperses and he turns away, not even looking back as he walks into the campus.

I sigh loudly and slam my car door closed, my bag strap getting stuck in the door. "You've gotta be kidding me."

I pull hard and my bag tears open, all of my belongings flying clear across the parking lot. Students around me start laughing and I bite my lip, trying so hard not to cry right there.

Harry locks his range rover and looks over at me, walking forward towards my car. "Harry?"

He turns and sees Rose standing there with Zayn, the two of them watching me. Harry looks back at me, his eyes capture mine. He smiles at me and Rose calls for him again.

“Harry, c’mon mate!” Zayn yells, getting impatient.
