Y/n POV
I was texting my friend Jaeden while my mom was on the phone from someone.
Jaeden: So when do you want to meet up at McDonald's?
Y/n: Ummmmmm maybe at 2:45 because my mom is driving me if that's fine
Jaeden: Y/n, you know we live a block away right? We can just walk there.
Y/n: Lol! Okay I'll call you as soon as I say goodbye to mom
Jaeden: K :)
I got up from the couch and packed up some money. "Y/N! CAN YOU COME HERE?" Mom yelled. "Ya coming!" I yelled back. I walk out of my room to see Mom and Dad sitting at the kitchen table. Dad's hand over Mom's. "Honey, we need to tell you something." Dad said. "Okay..... What's up?" I said. "You promise me you won't lose that smile of yours?" I nodded. "Honey, I got my tests back from my doctor, and...... I have breast cancer." She said. My heart felt like it was shattering into millions of tiny little pieces. My eye's widened when tears formed in my eye's as I put my hand over my mouth. "W-what?" I stuttered. "I have to go through chemo and other treatments." Mom said. I started to really cry now. "Oh honey don't cry." Dad said. "HOW CAN I NOT?!?! MOM COULD DIE!!" I said with tears pouring down my cheeks. "Come here." Mom said and I ran into her arms, crying. Then I felt my phone buzz. "I need time to process this." I said "Okay honey." Dad said.
Jaeden: U coming?
I called Jaeden. I really need him right now.
ring ring ring ring ring
"Hello?"
"Jaeden come over right now." I said sobbing
"Why? What's wrong?"
"I-.... I need you right now."
"I'm coming right away." He said and hung up.
I went into my room and started crying really hard in the dark. I slid down the wall of my room and curled up in a ball and sobbed. "Y/N?" Jaeden called. "I-in h-here!" I yelled as best as I could. My door slammed open and Jaeden was at the doorway. "Oh y/n what's wrong?" He asked coming down and hugging my curled up form. "M-my mom....S-she has c-cancer." I sobbed into his chest. "Oh y/n, I'm so sorry." He said while stroking my hair. I felt a wet substance on my shoulder. I look up and see Jaeden crying too. He picked me up and set me on my bed and put covers on both of us. He sat there crying with me for the rest of the day. Apparently we both fell asleep and didn't wake up until the next morning with tear stains on our cheeks.

It's been 4 months since my mom told me she had cancer. So far cancer is winning and I'm not taking it well. She lost all of her hair and has gotten weaker. It was my 14th birthday yesterday, and we had a little party at the hospital with my mom, dad, and Jaeden. Jaeden got me best friend necklaces, my dad got me F/m, and my mom got me a gold bracelet with infinity signs. I wanted my party there because I know it won't be long. I have stayed at the hospital with her for a while. Jaeden gets my homework from school and comes by with it every time I'm at the hospital. He helps me with it too, since I miss the lessons.
Jaeden is the best person I've ever met. I smiled at the thought. Now I'm currently getting my mom some food from the cafeteria. As I was on my way down there, I felt my phone buzz. Dad? "Hello?" I ask. "Y/N...... it's happening." I drop the food and sprint to my mom's room with tears in my eye's. "MOM!" I yell. I get into the room and run to her bed. I threw my phone to my dad. "Call Jaeden." I said. He nodded knowing he would help me. I look at my mom. She looks miserable. "Mom.....Just know" I hesitated. "It's okay you can go home now. I will never forget you." I said now crying. "I-i know hun. I j-just wanted to see your beautiful face one more time." She smiled at me. Suddenly Jaeden comes running into the room. "J-jaeden? Can you do something for me?" She whispered reaching to him. "Anything!" Jaeden said with tears in his eyes and holding her hand. "Watch her for me. Make sure she has good grades, and comfort her when she needs it. Love her too."
"O-of course I will. Mrs. L/n." He said and she smiled. "It's t-time y/n." she said. "I know." I said while sobbing. "I love you." she said while closing her eye's. "Mom? MOM! NO NO NO! I CHANGE MY MIND DON'T GO please..... I need you." I whispered. Jaeden hugged me and I hugged him back while crying. "I'm so sorry for your loss." the doctor said as he walked out of the room. "I know it hurts now y/n, but know I'm always here." Jaeden said. I nodded while sobbing.
