"Taylor, breakfast!" I hear my mom call me from downstairs.

It's Saturday, but my whole family are early risers.

I take a glance at myself in the mirror before walking downstairs.

I look a state, but I'm not bothered to do anything about it.

"Morning" I mumble, as I enter the kitchen.

"Morning Tay." My dad says, while he reads the local newspaper.

I hate breakfast. I find the mornings way to early to eat anything... But as my mom says breakfast is 'vital' and you must eat it because it's the 'most important meal of the day'.

I take a yoghurt out of the fridge and sit opposite my brother while eating it.

"Did you have fun yesterday?" My mom asks Ryan.

"mhm" he mumbles.

"Doesn't sound very convincing" my dad says, still looking at the newspaper.

"Yes oh my god it was great I had a blast!" Ryan says sarcastically.

Mom shoots him a 'stop being such a smart ass' look.

When I finish my yoghurt I walk to the bin and throw the empty tub in.

"Taylor a yoghurt is not substantial enough for your breakfast." My mom says.

"Well it's substantial enough for me." I say, as I walk back upstairs.

I walk into my room and shut the door behind me.

I walk towards my balcony doors and open the curtains.

I reach for the handle and open the door as I step outside.

It's so peaceful. I can hear the birds chirp and sing songs while the rest of the neighbourhood lies in complete silence.

When something across the way catches my eye, I notice I'm not the only one listening to the calm neighbourhood.

"Hey" Matthew says, in a soft voice, loud enough for me to hear.

"Hi." I say, smiling.

I've just remembered my hair is in a messy bun and I'm in sweatpants..

"You're up early" Matt says, he phrases the sentence like its a question.

"Yeah, I have a baby sister. What's your excuse?" I laugh a little.

"You." He says, plain and simple.

I can feel my cheeks blush and I can't do anything about it.

"Seriously," he says, "I got out of bed cause I saw you."

I look away, smiling.

"Can we do something today?" Matthew asks me, staring over here.

"Like what?" I ask, as I look back.

"Like, I don't know. Go to the movies, the beach, the fair"

The fair sounds like my best bet.

"How about we go to the fair?" I say, shrugging.

"Sure" Matthew says, taking a step back closer to his balcony doors.

"I'll text you." I tell Matt as I walk inside.

He laughs "you don't have my number"

"Never mind then!" I shout as I close my balcony doors behind me.

I can't make the smile on my face disappear, it feels like it's stuck there.

It's like I want him, but I also want to get over him, and neither are happening.
