"I've decided to stop being so nosey."

Kyungsoo paused mid-stretch to look over at the person walking beside him, eyebrows raised and expectant as he stared at his closest friend. "What?"

"You and your cousin," Baekhyun said, his red hair being blown in all directions by the wind. He had dyed it two weeks ago, and after seeing it, Jongin had been thoroughly convinced that humans could change their hair colour at will. Kyungsoo had to sit with him for two hours to explain the magical concept of hair dye. In the end, he still didn't understand. "I've decided to leave you guys alone. I'm sure I've been pretty annoying recently."

"What? No," Kyungsoo reassured. "You've been annoying since the start– ah!"

Kyungsoo quickly moved to his right, sidestepping and dodging a near punch to his shoulder. Or rather, he would have, if he had been slightly more athletic. Instead, he stumbled, and Baekhyun landed the hit in the middle of his back.

"The point is," Baekhyun continued as they walked through the double doors of Kyungsoo's apartment building, "that I'm leaving you guys alone."

"Why the sudden change of heart?" Kyungsoo asked once they got into the elevator. He pressed the button for the ninth floor before the doors shut.

"Because I've come to the conclusion that you're telling me the truth, because my best friend wouldn't lie to me," Baekhyun replied, and Kyungsoo couldn't help but feel just a little bad. "And, even if you are lying, you're not gonna tell me the truth any time soon."

"I'm not lying," Kyungsoo said, voice threatening to crack. The two of them walked out as the elevator doors opened. "Jongin's my cousin, he's just... overstaying his welcome."

"Whatever," Baekhyun shrugged, watching Kyungsoo struggle to unlock the door. The key always got jammed in the lock, so it took a minute before it finally swung open. "It's none of my business–"

As interesting as it was, their conversation seemed to be cut short once the door swung open because, lo and behold, there on the floor in front of them was the very subject of their discussion... and he was tangled up in the hose of Kyungsoo's vacuum cleaner.

Baekhyun and Kyungsoo watched from the threshold of the door for a couple of seconds, very perplexed, before Jongin finally noticed them. Once his eyes met Kyungsoo's, his face lit up.

"I'm so glad you're back!" Jongin exclaimed, still wrestling with the appliance. "I went into one of the closets because I got bored and this thing attacked me! It's pretty weak though so don't worry, I'll protect you–"

"You know, it looks like it's time for me to leave," Baekhyun abruptly sighed out before glancing over at Kyungsoo. It was clear from his expression that he was done with this bullshit. "I'll see you tomorrow, Soo."

With that, Baekhyun spun around and left, leaving Kyungsoo there to continue staring as the idiot of an alien in his apartment wiggled around on the floor with his vacuum.

"...and then, at the end, Peter told her that he was in love with her and they kissed!"

It was now about six in the afternoon. Kyungsoo has successfully detangled Jongin from the hose of the vacuum cleaner a while back, and so the two of them were now in the kitchen. Kyungsoo was busy chopping up things on a cutting board for dinner, and Jongin was happily perched on the counter beside him, gushing about a romantic comedy he had watched earlier today.
