How do people go on in life to achieve amazing things?
As a kid, all I had ever wanted to do was explore the stars and maybe have a group of decent friends. Nowadays, all I want is to be able to live another day so I could see my mom. It's not like what I wished for didn't come true, I just didn't expect it to be true to this extent. I was actually exploring the stars, even if I was in the middle of a centuries long war.
Because of this so called war, I guess I was never able to ever properly digest the beauty of it all; it sort of just flew by, you know?
Blues clashing with soft purples and highlights of pinks all blur together to create my lasting memories of our never ending universe. Everything about it is comforting yet has a cold undertone. It's bitter, oh so bitter. They remind me of home—of what i'm missing. Home didn't have these stars so close, nor did it have gigantic space ships, but here I was. I was stuck in space, living out my only wish, that had turned much too bitter for my liking.
No longer did the comforting colors soothe my fraying nerves. Instead, they left remorse and regret to naw away inside me. Regrets filled to the brim, almost waiting to pour over and be on display for all. That time I had talked with Keith was only the tip of the iceberg for it all, and look where it got me. I had caused him to leave. Leave Voltron. Leave everything behind so that I could feel appreciated.
I wonder what he would say if he saw me now—struggling to make it another day here. He was my anchor, believe it or not. Keith was always an unchanging person I could rely, but I managed to drive him away. So, now I was thrashing my way through a storm of stars, barely keeping my head above them, as I didn't have an anchor.
Ironically enough, I used to always have to crane my neck upwards to get a good glimpse of the stars, but now I was drowning in them. Oh how life changes.
