XXXIII

41 9 15

I climb up to you.

Sit down beside you, and we watch the night fall.

Night- it falls ever so softly, doesn't it?

Like a snowflake.

You tell me you have an urge to

Catch the night on the tip of your tongue

And feel the cold it might bring.

I-

I can't explain this-

We are two feathers in the breeze

Meant to fly in random directions,

And yet the winds always bring me to you.

Why am I so drawn to you?

Why do I love you so?

Knowing that you won't ever be mine,

I can't stop.

I can't stop and it's so painful.

I hold your hand, just this once.

Just this once, you let me.

We count the stars,

Then you let go.

You jump down from the branches,

And fly away to someone else.

Someone better than I am.

I-

I'll write to you again.

And I'll wait for you.

I'll make you a symphony-

From the night you wanted to taste,

And play it for you.

And I won't want anything back-

Just you,

You smiling the way you always are,

With

Or without me.
