Chapter 15

"What are you gonna do?"

Jenny asks me as we sit on my front porch.

"I don't know.."

I say nonchalantly.

"Well..your not thinking of going back with him right..?"

She says cautiously.

"No!..I would never go back with him."

I say yelling into the distance.

"I don't care if he's changed he won't be able to take back what he's done in the past.."

Jenny sits tensely and then begins to stand up.

"Well..In the end everything will work out."

I look up at her and she gives me a forgiving look and then nods.

"I'll see ya later.."

I nod to her and watch her walk down the street.

I sit on the porch until Danny gets home.

Just sitting and waiting.

I felt like I was waiting for him to come back and show him that I was still here, that I wasn't going anywhere.

I take out my cigarette from my mouth and watch as the bud lights up and then dies down.

Danny pulls into the driveway and gets out of his truck.

"Hey." He says shutting the truck door and heads up the front steps.

"Danny..dad's gonna be stayin for awhile..isn't he..?"

I say stopping him before he walks into the house.

He waits before answering and says, "Yeah..yeah he is.."

He turns around and looks at me.

I glance up at him and then go back to smoking my cigarette.

"But he ain't takin you nowhere.."

He says sitting down next to me and looks off into the distance.

"Danny..I don't want you too think that I feel any different about you now that dad's here and that he's got it good. I'm happy here with you, I like livin with you. Danny..your my hero. And I don't know if I'll ever be able to repay you for all you've done but I promise that We'll always stick together.. I love you Dan."

I say hugging him and begin to tear up,

"I love you too."

He says hugging me tightly.

We both sit on the porch for the rest of the day sitting in silence just waiting for what ever was coming and showing that nothing could tear us apart.

"Hey beautiful."

Dally says as he waits at his car.

"Hi."

I say grinning and give him a kiss.

"How was school?"

He says just staring at me in daze.

"Same as always..boring.."

I say chuckling.

He smirks at me and we get into the car.

"So I was thinkin..you, me. Head out to the fair this weekend."

Dally says giving his same smirk he always does.

"Yeah. I could use a break."

I say taking a sip of my coke.

He smiles and takes a sip of his coke.

"Then it's a date.."

He says after swallowing his drink down and a huge grin slaps onto my lips.
