"What do you want!?"

I say to my dad who had dropped by to come convince me to move back with him.

"Things are different. I got my stuff together, gotta nice job. A nice house and am taking care of things I should of done along time ago."

He says seriously.

"So what..? You think since your all of a sudden your "Good" I'd go back with you..?"

I say crossing my arms and narrow my eyes at him.

"Yes. I was hoping that you would."

He says nonchalantly.

My dad was always the type of person who you never were sure if he was being serious or just saying something to make you shut up.

"Well that's not gonna happen."

Danny says shaking his head.

My dad looks up at him and gives him a stern hard stare.

"Were doin just fine..have been for 10 years."

Danny says standing up and begins to walk towards the door.

He opens it half away and puts his arm out for my dad to leave.

"I'm not going anywhere..not until you come back home. With me! Your only 16 years old, you still have a while till your ready to be taking care of yourself, and Danny is in no position to be taking care of you. He's only 19, barley even knows what the meaning of adulthood is."

My dad says starting to get angry.

"S..t..we've been doing good this long..DAD. Where the hell were you after mom died? Oh yeah, that's right. Going to strip clubs and getting waisted until you didn't even remember who your own kids were. So before you say anything about adulthood turn around and look in the mirror. Danny has been doing a damn good job of being a adult, he may not have a great job or all the money in the world, but he works his ass off to put dinner on the table. Danny has been the father that you'll never be."

I say yelling the words out.

The room goes silent and my dad looks at me with big angry eyes.

"Now get the hell out of our house."

I say getting into his face and wait for him to stand up and leave.

Danny slams the door shut hard and then turns to me and hugs me tightly.

"You alright.."

He says choking on the words.

"Yeah..you.."

I say hugging him tight.

"Yeah...Yeah I'm alright kiddo.."

He says stroking the back of my head.

"Damn.." Dally says after seeing the whole thing.

•••

"I've never seen you like that.."

Dally says as we lay on my bed together.

I don't say anything and just stare off into the distance.

"You just blew up.."

He says playing with my hair.

"I would never let him attack Danny like that.."

I say still off in my daze.

He shakes his head and holds me to his chest.

"But are you ok?" He asks.

"To be honest I was scared as hell.."

I say listening to his breathing.

He chuckles and strokes my hair.

"Well I think you scared the hell out of him.."

I crack a smile and chuckle under my breathe.

"You don't have to be scared, You got your brother and me to look out for ya. We won't let him touch you.."

I sit up and smile at Dally.

"I love you."

I say and kiss him gently.

•••

I lay in bed tossing and turning trying to make myself fall asleep.

But it wasn't happening.

Finally I lay on my back staring up at the ceiling, There was one thing going through my head and I couldn't seem to stop thinking about it.

My dad came here for one thing, and one thing only.

Yet he left so easily after one argument.

Finally I come to what I was hoping not to.

We weren't done with him, and I had a feeling he was gonna be staying for awhile.
