A poem from my love

Dear Love,

What do you see in yourself?

What stares back from the mirror on the shelf?

Why doesn't the mirror work?

If it did you would see the angel that inside lurks.

Because, my love, you are the world.

The smile on my face that unfurls.

The one who makes me uncurl

From the fear

Deep inside

The thoughts unclear

But deep inside

The path veers

Deep inside

Past the pain I peer

My dear

You're the one I love

Behold your own light

Because without it

I'd be trapped in the fright

Of my own mind.

I love you

Not because you chased away the shadows,

But because the one beside me is you.

And you are my rose.
