Time went by faster than Alex had hoped, and before he realized, Monday morning rolled around. When he woke up that morning, he showered, smoked a cigarette and sprayed on cologne. Alex dressed in his usual black attire, strapping on his black watch before he picked up his things from his desk. He felt nervous, that was true, but he also felt excited and anxious. He had been waiting for this day for over three weeks and it had finally arrived.

Alex headed downstairs, his leather notebook secured in his arm as he walked into the kitchen. He stomach growled, begging for some sort of energy to fuel his body. But when Alex opened the fridge, he groaned at the empty shelves inside. He had been hoping to find at least left overs from when Abella cooked him dinner on Saturday night. But to his disappointment, the fridge was completely cleared out.

Sighing, Alex looked through the cupboards, but they were also pretty empty. The only edible thing he could find was a bag of chips that were three days past the expiration date. The growling in Alex's stomach refused to let him acknowledge this as he dug his hand into the bag and threw the chips into his mouth. They tasted horrible, but his hunger didn't mind.

Grabbing his helmet off the table, Alex pulled on his leather jacket, grabbed his keys and headed out the door. The sun was up high, radiating a bearable heat due to the rain they had received on Sunday night. The pavement and grass were still a bit wet, leaving the floor a bit slippery. Alex didn't mind though because he knew his boots guaranteed him a fall-free walk.

Alex climbed onto the motorcycle and shoved the notebook into his leather jacket. As he drove toward downtown, he thought of the many possible ways his day could go. If the tattoo shop said "Yes, we'll hire you" then his day would go perfectly. He was driving toward Infinity Bookstore, hoping to see his brunette again. He had hoped that seeing Abella would shed some luck and light to his day.

He couldn't help but smile fondly at the memory of the weekend he had spent with Abella. The weekend had gone by quicker than he had expected and hoped. Eventually, Abella had to leave on Sunday because 1) Jack wanted to have "special time" with Mary and 2) Abella wanted to spend time with her little sister before the week started up again. Despite not being able to spend all the weekend together, he still felt content with at least being able to spend some days with her. He didn't know much about dating, but he was still determined to be a decent boyfriend for her.

As Alex pulled into the parking lot of the bookstore, he couldn't help but notice the white Jaguar parked neatly in front of the store. Normally, he wouldn't mind the fancy cars, but as he removed his helmet, he couldn't help but stare at it in complete awe. The car was practically screaming for attention from everyone that passed by. Obviously, the car belonged to someone who wasn't afraid to show off.

Alex placed the helmet on the backseat of his motorcycle and headed toward the entrance. The bells rung above him, signaling his arrival. Despite the familiar pop music that played around him, Alex could feel the thick tension that filled the bookstore. And as he looked around the shop, he quickly discovered why.

Abella sat at the counter, a hard look on her face as her arms crossed over her chest. She glared at the curly haired man that stood in front of her, anger filled her brown eyes. Instinct quickly took over sensibility as Alex hurried toward the two.

"Abella," Alex said, walking past Jeffrey. He didn't bother to acknowledge him as he walked behind the counter and wrapped his arm instinctively around her waist. Jeffrey smirked, amused by Alex's overprotective gesture.
