When women show off and pioneer,

When we rise,

People think we just got here.

But why the surprise?

We've been here the whole time.

We didn't need extra strength or might-

-when we hid in plain sight.

You might've heard of Charles Darrow,

Who in order to support his family

Created the legendary game Monopoly.

But thirty years before in 1904

Liz Magie created Landlord's Game

Funny how they were almost the same.

Many great women are cursed to spend their life

Known as some famous man's wife.

Too many times genius minds get pushed aside

Just to satisfy some man's pride.

Names purposely forgotten, never to be seen.

Take for instance Margaret Keane

Walter made her hide her name so he could get the fame

But when the truth came forward,

He hid like a coward.

So yes, if you tell us we can't do something, we'll prove you wrong.

You better stop doubting because we'll keep doing it too.

But don't be shocked because we've been here all along.

After all, the only thing stopping us was haters like you.
