Chapter 11 " Study Group "

*Ting!*

"Okay, I think it's ready!" Ashley said. She got the cookies out of the oven and placed them on the cooling rack. She then started cleaning up the kitchen area. Just as she was about to finish, her mom came in. "Princess, your father and I have an urgent meeting today so can you promise to look out for yourself? Don't worry I'll ask the guards to tighten up the security." Her mom said. "Yes mom and I forgot to tell you that my friends are coming over for a study group. Is it alright?" She asked. "Sure. Study well! Bye!" Then her mom rushed out of the house.

After a few minutes the doorbell rang. The guards recognized them and opened the gates. Ashley opened the door and welcomed the visitors. The thing is, she was expecting only to have two persons standing in front of her doorstep. Instead, she found a group of four persons. Standing in front of her were Lucy, Kevin, Roxanne, and last but most definitely not the least Nick.

"Wow! It's been like ages since I last came here right?" Roxanne said shoving Ashley out of the way and casually stepping inside. Ashley held the door and made way for the others. "Pardon our intrusion." Kevin said "Excuse us." Lucy followed "It's not that bad." Nick said obviously criticizing the interior design. "Well then, please teach me diligently~" Nick said, sarcasm clear in his tone. Ashley sighed deeply. She couldn't do anything anyway so what's the use of complaining?

She guided them to her room upstairs and they settled in. "I'll just fix something outside. Lucy? Do you mind helping me?" Ashley said. Lucy was about to protest but she got dragged out of the room instead. "Explain." Ashley demanded. "Okay, okay. Chill!" she said "Roxanne insisted in coming too and apparently we met Nick on the way here so he kinda tagged along too." Ashley nodded understanding the situation. "So let's start?" Ashley asked as they both entered the room. They occupied the study table with five chairs and started flipping through pages.

Kevin had his hands full with studying and at the same time teaching his flirtatious girlfriend. You really can't understand if she was really studying or just purely flirting. She kept clinging to Kevin's shoulder whereas he was struggling to find focus. Ashley on the other hand was helping her best friend understand a couple of lessons in Math. She was also constantly shooting daggers at the guy throwing small pieces of crumpled paper at her.

Nick wasn't opening a single book and made no signs of doing so. He continued crumpling small pieces of paper and throwing it at her. He was amused and took pleasure in annoying her. It was a must in his bucket list. When she glares at him he returns it by sticking his tongue out. He knew it was childish but nonetheless, it got more on her nerves.

After three hours, they decided to take a break from studying. Ashley remembered the cookies she baked earlier. "Wait a moment, I'm gonna bring us some snacks." Ashley said. "I'll help!" Lucy volunteered. They went downstairs and prepared the cookies. "So...when do you plan on telling Kevin about your feelings?" Ashley almost dropped a cookie "W-what?I w-won't." Lucy smirked "It's up to you. Just thought maybe you should confess." Lucy shrugged "Thanks for the concern but I think I'll pass." Lucy nodded "Sure, anytime." She said as they continued preparing the cookies.

A smirk formed at his lips. Nick overheard their conversation while passing by. When the two girls went down to get snacks, Nick also went down to get a glass of water. He was about to go upstairs but coincidentally heard the girls giggling and talking in hushed voices. It made him curious and hid behind a wall. They had no clue he was hiding and carefully listening to every word they were saying. After hearing everything, he slipped out and went upstairs and acted like nothing happened.

The girls went upstairs and walked inside the room. "Guys! Snack time!" They all got a piece and tasted it. "Mhmm! This is delicious! Did you bake them?" Kevin asked "Yup. I made them earlier." Ashley said "Wow! Just wow!" He was in loss of words. "Well thank you!" She smiled knowing that he liked them. "Hmph! It isn't that special." Nick mumbled "If you hate it then don't eat it." Ashley quickly shot back "I didn't say I hated it." Nick said "You...but you just said-" Ashley just sighed in defeat.

After eating, they resumed studying. It was peaceful for a few hours. After a while, Nick got bored wanted to go out for some fresh air. "I'm hungry. Come with me." he grabbed Lucy's arm and was dragging her out of the room "Where are you going?" Ashley asked "Convenience store." he replied "Hey wait! I'll come too!" Roxanne said almost too quickly. Of course Ashley knew why she wanted to tag along so badly. Because of that person, Nick.

"So I guess it's just the two of us huh?" Kevin said "Yeah..." Ashley yawned "You tired?" he asked "Kinda..." she folded her arms and used it as a pillow "I think I'm gonna doze off for a little bit." she said and finally closed her eyes. He nodded in silence and got a blanket for her. He was very careful not to wake her up. He gently covered her with it and went back to his seat. He opened his book once more and started reading.

"Hmm..." Kevin was startled cause he thought he woke her up. He was relieved to see her still sleeping. "Kevin..." His eyes widened hearing his name being called in her sleep "Kevin...towards you...I..." he continued to listen "I like you..." he sat there frozen in his seat. Even though her words were softly spoken, he heard every single word she said. Even though she was sleeping, he knew what those words were and what those words meant. He understood it clearly.

I was getting a lot of requests to update so I did. Sorry if I took so long but I made a story outline so yeah its like that. Enough of me XDD

I was planning to publish this chapie yesterday night but I became sleepy and was unable to do it ^_____^V
