Run into the field with your strides so wild,
Everything turns into a haze of colour and hay,
Don't stop until your lungs heave full
From basking in the love of today.
Take in the scent of lavender first,
And challenge yourself to reach the end at bay,
Play with the birds by the pond when tired
From basking in the love of today.
Fling stones across the tepid waters,
While the sunlight kisses your face in play,
Laugh through your soul until your heart can't have enough
From basking in the love of today.
Plonk upon the grass when you've had your fill
And stare at nature through the sheaths of ray,
Look at the glorious sky reflect your joy
From basking in the love of today.
Shut your eyes and live every moment,
For life isn't known to wait for time or day,
Fill your heart with the peace of living;
From basking in the love of today.
Hug yourself as the winds caress your hair,
And then raise your head above to that which say:
"Let the power of positivity surround you from within;
From basking in the love of today."
So run into the fields with all your might
Whether it's today or the first of May,
What awaits you within is who you really are
From basking in the love of today.
