9. An Eye For An Eye

Like the scorching heat of the desert,
A soul set on fire,
Set out to conquer everything in its path,
But was it a victory or more destructive wrath?

Was it another tale through the silence of the night?
Or another spark of the hissing, spitting fire?
Who could really surmise the strength in the depths of those blazing eyes?
The sunlight falling upon the cracks of the heart within that lies?

A mystery in the eye of every beholder,
A façade too firm to fall,
Nobody could surmise the depth she held within, never adorned,
Truly, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...

Who could dare to look beyond the flames
Where still lay the remains of a deadened past,
An innocence long since forgotten for the cruel world,
An existence with no soul, simply an unfathomable struggle unfurled.

An unexplored, unusual... frightening beauty,
Like a comet filled with the power to blaze across the Universe,
With the intensity to bear like a diamond in the making,
Destroying herself in the process before breaking.

A stunning face for some, a wild spirit for another,
A beautiful mind for some, a fiery soul for another,
A cold heart for some, a complex personality for another,
An inspiration for some, a tyrant for another.

But little did their naive minds know...

There was no depth of emotion
Or a heart of compassion anymore,
It was now just an eye for an eye
For every friend and foe.
