(DECIDED TO GO A DIFFERENT DIRECTION PLOT WISE. I'M STICKING TO THE LIGHTER SIDE OF THINGS. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE)
I curled up in a leather chair at Ted's place. He came out of the kitchen, handing Robin and I a cup of coffee.
"Thank you, Ted." The doo slammed shut, and I looked up to see Barney.
"You will not believe what happened at Laser Tag last night!" He exclaimed.
"People freaked out because a creepy man in a suit wouldn't leave their kids alone?" Ted guessed.
"No."
"Pretty much, yeah." I confirmed. I stood up, allowing Barney to sit down, and then I sat on his lap. "He got himself banned for life for disorderly gameplay. The owner gave him one more chance to straighten up, and thirty-seconds later he was right back to attacking kids again."
"I can't believe you got yourself kicked out of Laser Tag. What are you gonna do?" Marshall asked.
"What am I gonna do? What am I gonna do? I'll tell you what Ted, Lauren, and I are gonna do. We're gonna break in after hours and TP the place."
"No, I'm not." I said. "Neither is Ted, and neither are you."
"Barney, we are too old to cover a place in toilet paper just because they won't let you play laser tag. And for that matter, we're too old for laser tag."
" Now Ted, I didn't say that. Laser tag holds no age restrictions."
"Like stripping in the Midwest." He held up a hand, but I shook my head.
"I'm not high-fiving you for underage strippers. That's creepy."
"Whatever. I'm adding Laser tag to the Murtaugh list."
"Oh, jeez, not the Murtaugh list." Barney groaned.
"What's the Murtaugh list?" Robin asked.
"Are we talking Murtaugh, like...Lethal Weapon Murtaugh?" I asked.
"It's hard to admit, but as you get older there's just certain things you can't do anymore." Ted explained. "That's why I have this list, so i never make the mistake of thinking that I can still pull an all-nighter."
"Oh, I'm too old for that stuff." Marshall said, imitated Danny Glover.
"Or eat an entire pizza in one sitting."
"I'm too old for that stuff."
"Or hang posters on your wall without frames."
"Riggs! Riggs! I'm too old for that stuff." I laughed. "By the way, how good is Lethal Weapon?"
"Now I want to watch it. Let's have a marathon at some point." I stated.
"I don't know, it's kind of a rip off." Robin stated. "Old guy paired up with a young, renegade cop. Sound Familiar." We all looked a t her strangely. "Mackleroy and LeFleur."
"Go home Canada, you're...well...Canada. Enough said." Barney held up his hand again and I high-fived him.
"I gotta go." Marshall said, waving at us.
"Bye baby, have fun at practice!' Lily called from the kitchen, drying the dishes.
"Practice? Is he doing that one man band thing again, 'cause that was a bummer." I stood up, grabbing the Murtaugh list and taking Marshall's spot on the couch. Barney took it from me.
"Ted, there is not a single thing on here that you are too old to do." He said. "In fact, if you did everything on the Murtaugh list, I'd call that a pretty fun weekend."
