"Are you ready?" The stage assistant asked. I was sitting in a folding chair, getting my make-up done. I was about to be interviewed on Metro News One, by Robin's replacement, I might add, about my bestselling book. That's right, you heard me. My book has been number one on the New York Times Bestseller list for three weeks in a row. People couldn't get enough. This was my first public appearance as an author.

"I think so. A little nervous, I guess." I told her.

"You'll be fine. Just don't think of it as a live broadcast." She walked over to the desk, and I took my place beside her.

"We're Live in three, two..." The camera man pointed at the newscaster.

"And welcome back to Metro News One. Here with me tonight I have Lauren Carson, author of the new York Times Bestseller, Big Apple Memoirs: A Woman's journey."

"It's great to be here." I told her.

"So, Lauren, for any viewers out there who haven't read your book, what is this novel about?"

"This novel is heavily based on my friends, it's about a girl who moves to new York to be a lawyer, but later quits to pursue her dreams along with getting into all kinds of weird situations with her friends."

"So, can you tell me the inspirations for each character?"

"Well, Madison and her husband Lyle are based off of my good friends Lily and Marshall Erikson. Nathan, is based on my friend and ex-boyfriend Ted Mosby. Katie's love interest Jackson is based off of my own boyfriend Barney Stinson, and ironically enough, Rochelle is based  on the one and only Robin Sherbatsky."

"Thank you, Lauren. That's all the time we have. GO  buy her book Big Apple Memoirs: A woman's journey at a book store near you. From all of his here at Metro News One, goodnight."

"And we're clear!"

"I can't believe you're a famous bestselling author!"  Lily exclaimed. Barney and I sat with Lily and Marshall at the booth.

"I'm not famous." I told her.

"You were on the news. That's famous in my book." Marshall said.

"Hey." Ted said, Stella in tow.

"Hey guys, how's it going?"

"I'm just gonna finish this." She took Barney's scotch from his hand, slapping it down on the table. I handed Barney mine.

"We just had dinner with Stella's sister and her fiancé. They're getting married before us."

"Ok, you know how you've dreamt about your perfect wedding day ever since you were a little girl."

"Yeah." Lily and I said together.

"Totally." Marshall threw in. Barney stiffened beside me. I gave him a weird look.

"My sister is stealing my dream wedding. Down to every last detail, on Shelter Island, at sunset just down the beach from our family's old summer house."

"So this...this uh...this something you've thought a lot about?" Barney asked.

"What are you talking  about?" I whispered.

"Ok, new goal, I want our wedding to kick her wedding's butt." Ted said. "I want our wedding to take her wedding's head and shove it in the toilet and flush it, like, 20 times."

"Oh, Ted, in high school, you were her wedding, weren't you?" Lily asked. I laughed.

"You know she's always trying to one up me. I mean, I love her, but there's a little part of me that kind of wishes this whole thing would just fall apart."  Stella said.
