Wait For It (Sequel to Challenge Accepted)

Chapter Seven: Central Park

We all walked in a huge group, Marshall and Ted goofing off, while Lily and Robin chatted avidly, and I stood between Barney and Chris.

"New York is incredible." Chris told me, looking around at the park.

"Isn't it? These guys opened my eyes to just how beautiful it can be. They're amazing." He wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"I'm glad you've had someone taking care off you." I shrugged.

"She doesn't need us to take care of her. She's plenty capable of taking care of herself." Barney said. Chris laughed.

"You're tellin' me. When she was in the ninth grade, some kid made some suggestive comment, so she kicked him in the crotch so hard, he was hospitalized for three days." Barney laughed. "She's been a firecracker since she was eight."

"And yet, at the same time, she's one of the most forgiving, most innocent girls you've ever met."

"Exactly?" Chris agreed. I rolled my eyes.

"Can we stop talking about me? I'd appreciate it."

"And she doesn't even realize it." They said together. I broke away from them, walking up to Robin and Lily.

"Lauren, I was just telling Lily, your brother is hot." Robin said. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Gross. He's my brother."

"Still, it's kind of hard not to notice those muscles." Lily cooed.

"You're married. But Robin, if you want to go for him, by all means be my guest."

"Seriously?" She asked.

"Yeah. He could use a decent girlfriend. " She fell back beside Christopher, Lily stepped up beside Marshall and Ted, and Barney stepped up beside me.

"I like your brother." Barney told me. I nodded. "We share a mutual love of you, so that's interesting."

"Shut up." I told him.

"So...we have a minute. We could fall back, and talk." He suggested.

"Yeah, I guess-"

"Christopher?!" We stopped turning around. Of course, who would show up but Michael? "Hey man, long time no see-" his words were cut off by Christopher's fist hitting his mouth.

"CHRISTOPHER!" I yelled, running over and pulling him off of Michael.

"What the heck, man-"

"You cheated on my sister, you freaking dirtbag!" He yelled, Marshall and Ted holding him back. "You were her fiancé! What is wrong with you?!" 

You may be wondering why Christopher is so much more angry about Michael then Barney and Ted. Michael was his best friend in college, I met through them, so I think he feels guilty.

"Get out of here!" He shouted at Michael.

"Hey, is everything ok?" I face palmed as Lawrence walked up to us.  "Lauren?! When did you get back-"

"Now is really not a good time, Lawrence."

"You're not still with him, are you?" Barney asked.

"No, of course not Barney-"

"Did this guy cheat on you too? Who else is there?!" Chris asked angrily.

"Come on, man-"

"You shut up, you aren't welcome here." He snapped at Michael.

"Guys, come on. Let's get out of here."

"I  didn't cheat on anybody, I'm the good one." Lawrence told him.
