Lauren has changed. After six weeks in San Diego California, she has come back with short hair, a new tan, and a hard distancing shell that will be almost impossible to crack. She has put up her walls and may never let anyone in again.
Will Barney g...
I sat on Lauren's couch, skimming through her book, while she resided in her room doing who knows what? I reached into my pocket, feeling the velvet box and turning it over in my fingers. It felt like it weighed a thousand pounds considering the affect it could have on our relationship.
"Hey Barney?" Lauren called, causing me to jump and pull my hand out of my pocket.
"Yeah?"
"I'm trying to decide on a dress for the wedding. Can you come tell me what you think of this one?" I stood up, putting her book down and walking into her bedroom. I was looking at the ground when I walked in, so the first thing I saw was her silver heels. My eyes travelled up her legs to her dress and the first thought that came to my mind was:
'In all of my experience, with all the girls I've seen and/or been with...this girl is the most beautiful.'

"You're not saying anything. Is that a bad response or a good response, or...what?" She asked, looking at my reflection in the mirror.
"That is..." I trailed off. "That is me thinking that you are the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen." She smiled, turning to face me.
"I think that's the sweetest thing you have ever said to me."
"I love you." She slipped out of her shoes, walking over to me and kissing me, placing her hands on my face. I put my hands on her waist, kissing her back.
By God, I love this girl.

And so, the day before our wedding, Stella and I made the trip up to Shelter Island...with everyone else not far behind.
"This isn't exactly where I pictured Ted getting married." Lily pointed out. It was some weird, Vegan, Yoga café type thing.
"The Namaste Yoga and Meditation Collective." Barney read off of the brochure.
"Totally, not at all, pretentious." I said dryly.
"I don't know about you guys, but nama-stay here any longer than I have to." Marshall and Barney high fived.
"Alright, sweetie, go check in with that dirty hippie over there and we'll go get some drinks." Lily pulled Barney over to the bar and I followed Marshall to the counter.
"Erikson." He told the woman at the counter.
"Yes, we've got you in room twenty-six."
"Great, and all the meals are included, right?"
"Yep, and they're all 100% vegan." Marshall gasped.
"Stinson."
"Room thirty." She handed me the keys and we met Barney and Lily at a table.
