"And boom goes the dynamite. The coolest bar in New Jersey." Stella's basement.
"Yeah, it probably is." Lily agreed. There was a bar down there, to be fair...and a picnic table...and half a ping pong table, and a washer and drier. Real party spot.
"This is great!" Ted exclaimed.
"We got darts. Half a ping-pong table. A fish bowl. Look what turned out to be an awesome night as promised. Maybe we can drop some Bac-Os in here and make them fight."
"No, thanks. I don't mess with fish bowls unless thy have my two favorite fish, the sucker fish and the blow fish. What up!" He held a fist out to Ted.
"For blowfish? I don't think so."
"Psh, Marshall."
"You're better than that."
"Lily."
"Not good enough."
"Stella." She looked at Ted, who shook his head.
"Sorry." He turned to me.
"Babe." I shook my head. "Darling, Lauren, the light of my life, my one true love, don't leave me hanging."
"I'm sorry, but no." I told him.
"I am not lowering this until someone gives me the respect of another person's knuckles tapping against mine in a light but decisive manner. Pretty, pretty. Pretty, pretty. Pretty...who's a pretty baby?" I shook my head at my boyfriend, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Then know this. Until it gets what it wants, nay, deserves, this fist will not yield. It will not yield."
"So, who wants to play scrabble?" Stella asked.
"Sure, whatever." I sat down at the picnic table.
"Baby...please." I smirked at him.
"I would, but...I'm a wimp, remember." His face fell and I smiled evilly, turning to the game board.
"Oh, heads up, the 'X' tile is a little hard to read 'cause a couple years ago, it went all the way through my dog." Stella told us. Everyone groaned."You know, maybe we should get a dog again, when you move in."
"When I what?" Ted asked. The doorbell rang.
"Oh great, there's Robin." She got up walking up the stairs.
"I thought they were moving in with you." Lily said.
"So did I. Oh gosh, am I moving to New Jersey? I can't live here."
"It wouldn't be that bad." Marshall told him."You could put a mini fridge over there and maybe some Nok Hockey."
"Nok Hockey. Nice one, big man." Barney tried.
"Yeah, I meant New Jersey in general, not this basement. She wants me to move here? I don't get it. We discussed this months ago. Look, I don't understand why you'd want to live in New Jersey when you have a chance to live in Manhattan."
"She has a kid. She has to think about what's best for her."
"I thought having a rent-controlled apartment on the Upper West side was half the reason she agreed to marry me."
"Really, I thought it was the whole reason. What is up?" I wanted to that time, but I was enjoying his pain way too much. Robin came down.
"Robin, hey, lookin' good. Bump the barnacle."
"Stella already told me not to." He winced.
"How was your first day?" Marshall asked.
"It wasn't."
