Shiny stars
Won’t take you far,
At least that’s what I learned
You wait for your own light;
You wait for your own turn
Turn out the lights
And say goodnight
To a life you once had
Just be glad
It’s finally over
Over with all the tears
And unwelcome fears
We hide it away
Until another day
Where they can eat us alive…
Five lines
Five lies
Five eyes
Five tries
Five lives
But nothing seems to work out right
Between you and me
The world needs to be set free
Let it run wild like the ocean
Or as dry as the desert
