I gave you my heart,
When yours was broken.
And as soon as your body accepted it.
And the stitches healed.
You ran back to her.
Brandishing your new heart and healing scars.
Because that made you feel like a new man.
But she hadn't changed had she?
And I can smell you on the wind,
Coming back to me.
The fresh blood from the new hole in your chest.
Invading my senses.
I knew before I saw you.
She had broken you again hadn't she?
And you come crawling back to me.
I could never say no to you.
So I let you slide inside my body.
And while we were joined at the hips you shared my energy.
Feeding off of me with hungry lips.
My soul quenching the thirst she caused in you.
The flood of my euphoria shared with you.
Bathing you in the waves of redemption.
You are now as good as new.
And i knew before i closed my eyes that night.
That by morning you'd be gone again.
Crawling back to her with the little energy I gave to you.
I'll wake up with cool sheets and a single dandelion on the pillow beside me.
And i will smell like you.
And my limbs and soul would ache.
And I'd lay in bed and let my reality was over me.
Drawing tears from the well of my eyes.
After, I will recharge myself in the morning sun.
Draw energy from the universe.
Repair all the holes our lovemaking made in me.
And I'll wait for you to come crawling back again.
I tell myself this time I'll turn you away.
You don't love me.
You use me.
To make yourself whole,
Just so she can break you again.
I'm just like you.
