“Get in the car!” my brother said, dropping his bag in and watched as I got in the passenger seat.

It was the end of the day, and surprisingly I made it out alive. Clyde started the car and drove out of the school.

He didn't look at me once. He definitely hated me for sure. He probably hated me just like everyone else.

“I'm sorry about how I treated you” I whispered, facing away from him. “I've just been having a hard day, that's all”

Silence.

He didn't say a word.

My body felt numb.

My eyes were beginning to droop from pain and exhaustion.

I fell asleep.

There was movement. But I wasn't walking. I could feel my feet swinging and my head resting on something.

Slowly, I opened my eyes to see I was being carried by Clyde.

I kicked my legs and flailed my arms, telling him to put me down.

“Will you quit moving?” he replied crossly as he placed me down. “you fell asleep, so I was bringing you up to your room, what's your deal lately?”

“Nothing!” I muttered, as I tried to rub the sleep away from my eyes.

“Brooklyn.” Clyde started “you know you can always tell me what's up if you can't talk to mum or dad” he continued.

I nodded, just wanting to forget everything and be left alone. He didn't need to know what was wrong. I could handle it by myself.

I could handle it by myself
